Most of it is coaching. Thibs has a hard time making in game adjustments which is why we lose close gamesshould be 12 - 3 or 13 - 2
if this team could hit free throws and not be boneheaded during late game situations
U have to be blind to not see it.in what way is today's game more compeitive than the game 10 years ago? id actually would love to hear this lol
and talent thing isnt even debateable lol
10-12 years agoU have to be blind to not see it.
Do yourself a favor and look up all 30 NBA rosters in the league in 2009 and compare it to those of today. Look at these rosters 1-15.
Matter of fact just do the Cavs and Knicks in 2009.
The game is also more competitive and there’s more parity this season compared to 2009. The league is more balanced. I mean you have to be blind to not see that.
You’re so wrong bro. Lol you just jacking your era or one that had more players you’re familiar with that’s all it is.10-12 years ago
the league had more talent than now
most of da players who are hoopin now (durant lebron, etc) were still hoopin back then, we lost kobe, dirk, wade, pierce, garnett, duncan, prime dwight howard, tony parker etc during that time span.
that level of talent has not been replaced
Bro, we’re seeing shyt in todays game, we’ve legit never seen… Giannis, Luka, Jokic, Steph and I’ll even throw in Ja and Zion are damn near aliens compared to that era. Guys like Tatum and Booker are more comparable to the greats guys you listed but the talent level is substantial today. Top to bottom. There are no “hopeless franchises” like there were back then. Even the sorry teams have really intriguing blue chip guys that you want to watch. I think you’re comparing the output of those guys (which doesn’t make sense) while we’re speaking strictly talent.10-12 years ago

Realistically I don't see any player that could become available that gets us closer to contention than Mitchell. shyt it's no guarantee we ever get a player of Mitchell's caliber we've never had anything like him. So I never liked the whole "doesn't make us a contender" thinking. I see the NBA as wide open right now. The Knicks fans are wishing on a star literally I don't know what player y'all are waiting to draft or trade for. I still think Knicks fans in order to rationalize this move not happening tend to underrate what Mitchell would have had to work with had we gotten him and dismiss how things could have possibly gelled.I agree that the Knicks would be better by a decent amount right now. But I don't think they'd be contenders and I'd be worried as hell about the FO threading the needle to get us over the hump without cap space or picks.
Granted, the Cavs have looked good against EVERYONE so far. I'm just agnostic on their success carrying over into the postseason. It might work, but I've gotta see it to believe it. I still think Milwaukee (any time Middleton plays) and Boston are head and shoulders ahead of the rest of the East. Philly, Cleveland, and Brooklyn are the teams I think could make a run but I don't trust them for different reasons.
I'll be happy to eat crow is Mitchell pulls off the unthinkable. I love his game.
Quietly having a pretty good year after the slow start

People sleeping on the Cavs I'm assuming because they have some young inexperienced players. I'm not worried at all about Mitchell in the playoffs and I wouldn't be surprised if the Cavs can beat Boston or Milwaukee. They match up well with both teams, have already beaten both teams during the season, and neither team is really infallible just because they made Finals runs. They not the Warriors in this era where its been a serious uphill battle for teams to put them away. Both the Bucks and Celtics have taken their playoff exists over the years. Cavs had more problems with Brooklyn.
That's cap.nikka… you be the main one underrating our guys
