Nah, you get off his dikk protecting son like your life depend on it and arguing against straight facts

For no reason? Did you not see @Anerdyblackguy post clearly a decision has to be made soon
Bro I don’t even normally engage with you over this, because it’s clear you can’t stop. They made a fukk RJ thread recently and I was like “let them cook”, but you make everything about RJ in the Knicks thread.

It’s annoying :hubie:

It's going to be a long season for the RJ defense team. Age and being the third option won't be a good excuse by the trade deadline.
Bro I’m not even defending him as much as I’m tired of having ISO bring him up on everything. Plus he saying reckless nonsense like Josh Hart saved the team to pivot to shytting on RJ. It’s annoying

Once again. For those in the back.

RJ shoots 40 percent from the field. And 30 percent from 3.

He is hurting the team playing 35mpg. He has to go.
To top it off his defense is awful and he doesn’t make people better he looks people off.

It’s a clear decision this man must be traded while age is still on his side.

I think RJ would be better coming off the bench with this team. You can't force him and Julius to mesh. It would never work in a hundred years. Julius showed us he's the better player and RJ is the odd man out. You can't have three high usage players in a lineup. Hart is a glue guy, a better defender and plays better without the ball than RJ.

If they pulled off IQ/Fournier for OG, I'd assume RJ gets the first look off contract politics. But I picture Grimes supplanting him because the spacing would be broken (unless RJ's jumper takes two leaps in one offseason) and the POA defense would be shoddy like it was to start last season.

Unless the team is just running through the league, I'd expect to start hearing rumblings by the trade deadline.

Brunson/Grimes/OG/Randle/Mitch is the best of both worlds to me. It's got an elite defender at all three levels, while Brunson and Randle can control the offense in halfcourt. I bet the pace would pick up because of stops turning into quick turnarounds too.
This was literally me YESTERDAY. But I'm delusional for saying the team will be fine with him because they were just fine last season. RJ can be the player that needs to step up the most without people pretending he's going to capsize the whole season.

It doesn't have to be black and white, it's not STAR or BUM. He's getting third-option or worse treatment...it's not the end of the world regardless.

They won 47 games with him at 35 mpg, which is why I'm saying yall exaggerate. They were fine last year, what's gonna make this season so much different?

Until the playoffs where mental strength and play matters

I think they keep Quick. I think there are an order to these things and they had to pay Hart first so Quick can give them his number. I think they’re going to pay him in the sweet spot between what RJ and Hart makes to reflect his role on the team. So probably an extension in the $22-23 Mil range. Also they can afford all of this if they let Fournier expire or trade him for a short contract and draft picks.
I hope so but but remember grimes will be extension eligible next year and the front office likes him better.

IQ is in my top 5 fav players but with RJ, donte, grimes and Hart, might not be room for his extension unfortunately

I don’t see a backup PG among any of them,

Also with the cap going up, Hart isn’t overpaid and if IQ is around that number the same goes for him. 20 mill is the new 14 Mil. Which isn’t chump change, but a fair price for a productive roleplayer.

Fam, THIS is what the "RJ Defense" bullshyt popped out of.
Fournier got his chance, sucked, and got benched. This only becomes the Fournier situation is RJ starts the season awful (which has a decent chance of happening considering how he's started every season so far).

But everyone is way overblowing Barrett as a problem for this line-up. He was the third option for the regular season by a wide margin and essentially the second-option for the postseason. The team has been just fine with him in the third-man role.

This is what today's temper tantrum is over. "The team is fine"
