I disagree on Obi having value. That is a man that did not even have a definitive NBA position coming in with a lot of doubters I really don't see what you think he was supposed to net and this really goes back to Knicks fans tendencies to overrate certain players. Toppin doesn't rebound well, doesn't rim protect, is a sometimes shooter, can't play the perimeter, PF is the most devalued position in the game, he's just an athletic energy big.

If you ask me the organization has been doing their due diligence for stars. It's just hypocritical to me because last summer nobody wanted to trade for Mitchell here the asking price was too high but now fans are angsty and seem like they would go for pretty much just anybody. I don't understand it for the life of me. I'm well aware that Grimes and/or IQ would be in trade discussions they're legit good unlike a certain somebody.
Obi is a flawed player. But his flaws were highlighted by his misfit on the roster, while his strengths were buried. The longer he was left to try and become a 3 and D wing instead of a rim-running PF, the more his value dropped. If the Knicks had looked to move him as soon as they realized Julius Randle would be playing 35 mpg in perpetuity, they coulda gotten more. For clarity's sake, more doesn't mean anything drastic. Two second round picks is better than one (that was a rumored offer in the offseason), and there was talk about being offered protected first round picks prior to that. We watched Obi's value continually drop while his role never evolved.

And just to be clear, whether or not Obi deserved more minutes is beside the point. The point is, to maximize value they'd have to trade Obi sooner. Plus, if they wanted a 3 and D wing for the back-up PF role, dumping Obi to find a better fit always made more sense than forcing him into a role that clashed with his skillset.

In terms of doing due diligence for stars, I agree. But that means they need better assets or they need more assets to offer. My complaint isn't for lack of due diligence to get stars, it's that they're hanging on to assets for a star trade until those assets have no value in any trade. They shouldn't have had to use first round picks to dump expiring contracts last year. They should have gotten something positive back for Burks.

I think we may run into it again with Deuce McBride. Begley and Woj mentioned teams interest in McBride and the Knicks shutting that down. That's a good move for a piece with a future on the team. But if they're just gonna sit him on the bench and then let him walk a year from now, then get me the second round pick (ditto for Sims).

No he didn’t, because Thibs main flaw when it comes to playoff coaching is he makes all his adjustments between games.

Any in game adjustments leaves him frazzled. The best coaching he did was finally sitting Randle in game four of the Cavs series when it was obvious he was playing bad, and we now know playing injured. Spo stole a game in NY by just putting Kevin Love in to rebound and make transition passes. The next game the Knicks adapted but in game one Kevin Love did that shyt to the point people thought Kevin love was back. He refused to try small ball in season, so fukk trying that in the playoffs.

The Knicks Defense against the Heat was ok, but we saw no creativity on trying to get around the zone…. So here goes the FO again trying to figure out how to give Thibs guys who can shoot a three and defend. RJ and Randle were playing like shyt in game 6 and Thibs said “fukk it keep shooting”.

My hope, of all hopes with this team is we eventually get to the point Jay Wright thinks he can come in coach his former players and win a chip.
With a better coach we win that series
i don't give a fukk what anyone says
those guys were not better than us
They outhustled us and had a better game plan

Mike malone isnt da best coach in da world but it took him one game to adjust to miami's zone. We played da same way every game

Why do you keep on taking the word of deluded jock NBA players who can never do no wrong?

“It was tough but at the same time, it ain’t even about basketball,” Reddish told the Daily News. “It had nothing to do with basketball. It was all the politics, all the favoritism. S–t like that. That’s why I wasn’t too worried about it.”
It's not favoritism the coaches are in the business of winning games. You were given an opportunity and were not good. It was basketball not "politics".
“I can shoot a shot — and in New York, I feel like I HAD to make it,” Reddish, who will face the Knicks on Tuesday in Portland, said. “I know I’m not the only person that felt like that. I was putting too much pressure on myself. Now I can relax and play my game. You’re going to see it. The more I’m on the court, the more I’m going to grow and play. I’m happy.”
Yes, you played for a coach that held you accountable and had to fit in a 9-man rotation with other talented players of course there was pressure. You cannot shoot, you do not make shots. This man is sub-40% from the field and just a bit over 30% from 3 in his career. Reddish wasn't good in Portland he had the exact same player efficiency rating and his box plus minus was a -4.3 which is god fukking awful and even worse than it was with us. They let him walk in free agency and he is likely up to his last chance on the Lakers.

Oh, yeah we saw it alright. :laff:

Reddish will never be shyt in the league because he isn't coachable, he doesn't have it between the ears, he is a natural talent with no idea on how to play organized team basketball, doesn't have a motor, and is a guy with an elite physical profile but an overrated skills and athleticism. This is nothing new for him.

Report: Cam Reddish felt ‘picked on’ by Lloyd Pierce behind the scenes

The Nuggets have MPJ/AG//Jokic on their front line.

Players performance wins games, not coaching. You either hit your 3s or you dont.

I don’t necessarily think this is a bad thing considering this team has two very heavy ISO slow paced players (Brunson and Julius)
yeah but on the low I think OG is them doing to much. He’s the ideal 3rd wing behind RJ and Randle but that’s it. Maybe he can replace Grimes in the starting lineup.
I don't know who Zema is been here for years :manny:

U shouldn't be angered by facts you should take them for what they are...

I disagree Thibs is a perfectly fine coach and could win with the right transcendent player next to him like pretty much every damn coach that has won. This man has never gotten a fair shake here and was already hated and prejudged when hired. Instead of focusing on his positives his every move is groaned and doubted by people who have never coached organized basketball. In your paragraph you're juelzing at him outcoaching Bickerstaff and beating a fine, young Cavs team. Also, this narrative that he loses to lower seeds is ridiculous he lost to Philly in '12 in the series D-Rose tore his ACL, he lost to Washington in '14 and yes he did inflate that teams seeding they were the less talented team and the leading scorer in that series was Taj Gibson, and this season we lost to Miami which is the team that ended up making the Finals. These series he lost are not knocks or evidence of any pattern.

OG is not a bigger version of Grimes stop throwing out dumb ass comparisons :stopitslime:
you out here with Thibs dikk in your mouth again….. AGAIN.

:childplease:

You’re juelzing making excuses for the fact that outside of his first year as HC when he got knocked out the conference finals his coaching record in the playoffs is 4 times being knocked out the first round, and 3 times being knocked out the second round. You are riding this hard for Thibs playoff record and he has only been to the conference finals once in his whole career.

You saying he’s perfectly fine is the most “lowered expectation” semantic summation of a coaching career, I’ve heard yet. A Toyota is perfectly fine, we talking sports. You couldn't even call Thibs record good in your defense because you know he ain't good.

:comeon:
Now let’s talk Facts about OG to.

You’re wrong again if you watch OG play he is a bigger version of Grimes, Grimes actually has better dribble/Handle than OG. However, OG is bigger THAN crimes so he is valued more. While Grime can guard 1-3, OG can guard 1-4 and help on most 5’s. I like OG, you can look back and a few years ago I was saying they should go after him as their top FA before he signed that extension. However, shyt changes, and there is a reason why the Knicks haven’t offered RJ or IQ for him and the reason is he can’t do what they do with beating a defender off the dribble and then scoring on the help defender between him and the basket. If OG could do that then based on both his outside shot and defense he would be a star player.
:aicmon:

Lastly it's some real Clark/Superman shyt that Zema left and then you joined..... Real coincidental huh?

Dudes gotta be Sp.Ed or something in here shytting on the coach for benching unproductive, mediocre players.

Mad because cats that's not even in the league and failed prospects are salty they lost their rotation spots.

Going to bat for the likes of Evan Fournier, Cam Reddish and Austin Rivers is crazy.

Jesus fukking Christ.

No one is going to bat for them.

I'm not going to bat for them. I don't give a fukk about them. Using them as examples isn't supporting them as players or their talent or saying they should have played and that Thibodeau was wrong for his decisions. I'm not in the locker room, I won't pretend to know who was right or wrong. I'm talking about their narrative around Thibodeau and the perception of who he is and how he is hurting the team. That's it.

Your simple ass has some nerve calling anybody Special Ed with your autistic, repetitive ass rants repeating the same, identical points, word for word like a fukkin tick the second RJ or Thibodeau gets mentioned.

I'll say it again - I CARE ABOUT THE NARRATIVES THESE PLAYERS ARE PUSHING IN PUBLIC SPACES HURTING OUR CHANCES WITH GETTING NEWER, BETTER TALENT.

That's it. Nothing more, nothing less. If you're saying I'm saying anything else you're wrong, a troll and/or a fukking idiot, because what I'm saying is laid out in plain English even your dumbass can understand.

I'll say it again, I don't give a shyt about any of these players, I care that outside players might actually take their complaints as a legitimate issue and may not want to play for us, when the front office is hell bent on presenting an image as a destination team.

You don't believe that because you think they're bums and no one will listen to them? Cool. I do. Difference of opinion on the subject. That's it. Stop making it more than it actually is.

Thibodeau never had a championship roster so I don't know why you're telling when he was knocked out in the playoffs. He has never had a transcendent player like all the teams that have won championships. There is no pattern of him losing series he is supposed to win I already provided the context of the series which you chose to ignore. In no way shape or form is Thibs the reason we lost to Miami that shyt ain't on him hold players accountable instead of scapegoating coaches.

:laff: nobody cares about that shyt these players care about two things the bag and the possibility of winning malcontent and disgruntled players is regular around the league its why players leave teams or are traded and its why coaches are fired or resigned its the reality of the league

you on that man's nut sack.

One of da reasons why we shot so low from 3 is because we couldn't get good shots, we couldn't handle the zone, and we kept rushing shyt.

If da three isnt working, try something else. He didn't try anything else. shyt we almost lost gamr 2 when Butler was out 🤣 don't tell me about injuries.

Teams have made it to the conference finals without Transcendent players. Thibs isn’t even a guarantee to get out the first round.

nikkas ain’t even saying Thibs is a bad coach, but the motherfukker has flaws that come included with him.
