But they were wrong. Thibs coached his ass off this playoffs.
No he didn’t, because Thibs main flaw when it comes to playoff coaching is he makes all his adjustments between games.

Any in game adjustments leaves him frazzled. The best coaching he did was finally sitting Randle in game four of the Cavs series when it was obvious he was playing bad, and we now know playing injured. Spo stole a game in NY by just putting Kevin Love in to rebound and make transition passes. The next game the Knicks adapted but in game one Kevin Love did that shyt to the point people thought Kevin love was back. He refused to try small ball in season, so fukk trying that in the playoffs.

The Knicks Defense against the Heat was ok, but we saw no creativity on trying to get around the zone…. So here goes the FO again trying to figure out how to give Thibs guys who can shoot a three and defend. RJ and Randle were playing like shyt in game 6 and Thibs said “fukk it keep shooting”.

My hope, of all hopes with this team is we eventually get to the point Jay Wright thinks he can come in coach his former players and win a chip.

But it’s a trend tho… :mjlol:

What are you even arguing against? What are you saying isn't a trend? 4 documented examples of players speaking out against the Coach are listed and because they're being classified as bums on the verge of being out the league that somehow negates the fact that they spoke out? 4 people in a year publicly expressing issue toward a coach isn't a trend?

What?

But we’re HERE now. Let’s play the results. Cam Reddish couldn’t outplay Kevin Knox on a Portland team actively tanking. I was Cam’s biggest cheerleader here. Was Thibs wrong about this player who the knock has been, he doesn’t put in the work to improve his game.
Playing the best guys that put you in a position to win isn’t politics and favoritism. It’s the exact opposite.

It's denial bro. What him & others are saying is just a deflection of the real issue; Thibs communication skills or lack of & his mishandling of players on the roster that don't fit his mold

We're having very different conversations but I think I understand you now.

I'm talking about Fournier coming out as ANOTHER player speaking out about Thibodeau's communication style and my concern around how this keeps happening and how it could negativity impact the team.

You seem like you're essentially saying don't worry about that shyt being a trend, be positive, those guys were bums and he was right not to play them, guys around the league won't give a fukk about what they have to say.

I'm not inclined to agree. But I think I got you now. I'll leave this conversation alone. :hubie:

The only trend I’m seeing is Thibs doesn’t play guys who aren’t good anymore. Them crying about that FACT, something that all players who don’t realize that they’re not what they thought they were, isn’t newsworthy to me. The only player who bytched and had a legit reason for so was Obi and we did the best we could to put him in a good situation.

Yea, this is basically what I’m saying. I genuinely don’t think guys like Paul George or Joel Embiid are gonna factor in Evan Fournier’s frustrations when deciding if they want to come here. They’ll consider Jalen Brunson and Julius Randle’s opinions of Thibs because those are the players they see that are close to their level.

I feel like we’re letting Evan Fournier’s bytching re-write history a bit… two of the biggest knocks on Thibs was that he was a stubborn coach who A) alienates his stars (KAT) and B) relies heavily on his vets at the cost of developing the youth.

Now, all we do is bytch that he doesn’t bench Randle (our star) and “hold him accountable” and now we’re upset he didn’t “showcase” Fournier and is showing “favoritism” to Grimes and IQ? That’s what really has me confused. Mind you, Thibs WANTED Fournier the deadline before the summer we sign him. He was vocally upset we didn’t get him and thought his playmaking would help the roster. Isn’t this a sign of change? Thibs recognized that Fournier was no longer useful and pivoted away from him? I personally don’t care that he wasn’t giving him run in practice.

Please shut the fukk up, we agree on most things if you bothered to read the post but RJ and Thibs. However, your so god damn aggy you come in here looking for a fight. I posted a pro RJ tweet and you went on a five page rant. Another person said damn Thibs has bad habit and your in the middle of a 10 page rant defending him. Most the misery in this thread is from disagreeing with you and then the back and forth you force. Stop projecting!

You remind me of the poster Zema who use to come in here spewing a preset group of facts to just so she could annoy nikkas and try to make a point.

This motherfukker Thibs playoff record is trash and he’s lost multiple times to lower seeds. Likely because he inflates teams regular season wins, but that’s my point. Whenever the opposing team coaches start playoff level coaching (like making changes in game) he can’t win. He can’t adapt to shyt until he sits down and watches tape. The win against the Cavs was cool, but that roster is shyt because Ainge robbed them during the Mitchell trade. The only thing I will give Thibs credit for is he isn’t as stubborn it just took him to being down in game four to realize “Randle is playing injured and sucking…. Let’s sit him”. Yeah Randle had to get ankle surgery because he played him injured and Obi cursed him out for minutes to play in the next series, but that is an improvement for Thibs.

OG is just a bigger version of Grimes. The motherfukker can’t self create/dribble drive in the half court, he’s saying he wants to do that more to inflate his price, but that is also the reason the Knicks have not offered RJ or IQ for him. He’s a better Grimes but losing RJ’s and IQ’s self creation would be shooting themselves in the foot to get him.
I don't know who Zema is been here for years :manny:

U shouldn't be angered by facts you should take them for what they are...

I disagree Thibs is a perfectly fine coach and could win with the right transcendent player next to him like pretty much every damn coach that has won. This man has never gotten a fair shake here and was already hated and prejudged when hired. Instead of focusing on his positives his every move is groaned and doubted by people who have never coached organized basketball. In your paragraph you're juelzing at him outcoaching Bickerstaff and beating a fine, young Cavs team. Also, this narrative that he loses to lower seeds is ridiculous he lost to Philly in '12 in the series D-Rose tore his ACL, he lost to Washington in '14 and yes he did inflate that teams seeding they were the less talented team and the leading scorer in that series was Taj Gibson, and this season we lost to Miami which is the team that ended up making the Finals. These series he lost are not knocks or evidence of any pattern.

OG is not a bigger version of Grimes stop throwing out dumb ass comparisons :stopitslime:

None of these stories make any reference to players feeling like the coach wasn't clear in their communication.

None of these reference players feeling like there was politics and favoritism related to their being on the bench.

None of these have links to audios of the player arguing with the coach, saying how he can't coach.

None of these have players explicitly bashing the coach or even questioning the coach directly.

You were JUST talking about hypocrites and sources of sourses not being legit and people falling for the media hype and you post an article citing Chris Broussard citing "someone who is in the know" is saying the young players are pouting about minutes?

The closest you have here is a rental player literally asking why the organization traded for him at the deadline to barely play him. Implied issues with communication, at best and it's unclear who specifically it's directed at.

I'm talking about multiple coach/player relationships that appear to have turned toxic and the concern around the negative impact it could have on the organization, having a coach that is seen by players as a poor communicator and you pull these up as proof of how this is rampant around the league?

Jesus Christ. 🤦🏾‍♂️
You so god damn naive

Fournier was told he was not in the rotation anymore there is nothing else to "communicate". These international players love turning into chatty patties with overseas publications they think shyt can't be translated or something.

Throughout the league players bash coaches.

Players have arguments with coaches heated ones all the time.

Crowder bytches everywhere he goes and the Warriors locker room last season was beyond toxic :snoop:

When players aren't playing things turn sour its NORMAL across the league those players comments should be taken with a grain of salt fukk em why should you care about people who were unproductive and not helping the team win :dead:

:gucci: Aight I’m out. @ISO you on your own fam…
Dudes gotta be Sp.Ed or something in here shytting on the coach for benching unproductive, mediocre players.

Mad because cats that's not even in the league and failed prospects are salty they lost their rotation spots.

Going to bat for the likes of Evan Fournier, Cam Reddish and Austin Rivers is crazy.

I'm only speaking on maximizing the value of assets. From that standpoint, they continually allow their assets to lose value.

1. Obi's value was definitely not as bad as only receiving "a second round pick three years from now that also includes swap obligations to another team before it conveys."

2. A second round pick three years from now that also includes swap obligations to another team before it conveys would still be more than what they ended up with.

3. If the plan is to trade for a star, then IQ and Grimes are two of the most likely names that opposing gm's are liable to ask for. I'm happy to keep them, but this FO has been clear about wanting a star. They haven't added any first round talent for two years, so they're starting to run out of promising players on rookie contracts to throw in (and their first round picks aren't as valuable today as they would have been viewed last year either).

This FO has done some good and some bad, I said as much out the gate. Their patience is a double-edged sword. It's good because they don't stumble into bad deals or overpay often. But it's also bad because they've been left holding onto assets past their expiration date. They're still in a good position to make a move when the opportunity rises, but they're running out of time and the assets are drying up.
I disagree on Obi having value. That is a man that did not even have a definitive NBA position coming in with a lot of doubters I really don't see what you think he was supposed to net and this really goes back to Knicks fans tendencies to overrate certain players. Toppin doesn't rebound well, doesn't rim protect, is a sometimes shooter, can't play the perimeter, PF is the most devalued position in the game.

If you ask me the organization has been doing their due diligence for stars. It's just hypocritical to me because last summer nobody wanted to trade for Mitchell here the asking price was too high but now fans are angsty and seem like they would go for pretty much just anybody. I don't understand it for the life of me. I'm well aware that Grimes and/or IQ would be in trade discussions they're legit good unlike a certain somebody.
