I honestly don't see IQ staying. He's cool with Obi and this is Randles team. They already got into it.

I hope the FO packages him up as well so that the Randle and RJ fans get what they want with this team.

Better shop for a Brunson backup now.

He averaged 35.5, good for top 20 in the league.

Of that top 20, he's tied for 3rd most games played next to Lavine and behind Ant-Man and Bridges.

He played the 5th most minutes in the league last year.

The narrative applies, especially when there is/was a suitable backup.
Dude was 19th in minutes and was healthy this is an in prime 28 year old player :comeon:

What exactly is a showcase in your opinion? Obi didn’t rot on the bench collecting DNPs. He played plenty. He has film. He has playoff film. He has extended end of season film. Thibs did the most they could without sacrificing wins in his eyes.

Without answering for dude -

Prior to the final 5 games of the season, Obi cracked 20 minutes a game 7 times (they went 5-2) this season.

Without additional context -

He played 18 minutes in a game they won by 30 - Randle played 31 and they were up by 31 going into the 4th.

He played 8 minutes in a game they won by 24 - Randle played 33 and they were up by 23 going into the 4th.

He played 15 minutes in a game they won by 22 - Randle played 33 and they were up by 20 going into the 4th.

He played 13 minutes in a game they won by 24 - Randle played 35 minutes and they were up by 23 going into the 4th.

I picked these games because they were all games where the team was up big fairly early on. I don't know the minutes split, I don't know if he was coming off of his injury, I don't know what the circumstances were, but this stood out to me.

And that's not even considering pockets of playing small ball against another teams bench, playing him if he has it going and Randle doesn't, or any other circumstances that present over the course of an 7+ month long season and 82 games.

4 minutes a quarter isn't exactly a shyt ton of tape to go off of for a former lotto pick in his 3rd year. Season ending garbage time 40 point games may not necessarily sell teams on his ability when it matters. They could have thrown different lineups out there. They could have given him more leash. They could have not had him sit corner.

They could have done more. They chose not to. :manny:

19th in minutes averaged (like I said, top 20), 5th in total minutes played.

Him being in his prime isn't part of the discussion around whether or not he or the team NEEDED him to play those minutes with a suitable backup.

IQ isn't coming back to play 15mpg.
Bruh it’s extension negotiations. There is a solid chance he takes the life changing money. When the time comes and he is a UFA…. That’s when shyt gets real.

He’s in Europe right now, chillin.

Why? Where is he supposed to play?
Why? Because he's averaged 38% from three on over 5 attempts from three over the last three years and he'll be cost-effective.

Where is he supposed to play? Between IQ and Hart off the bench, unless IQ is featured in a package they use for a star. Then he'll play next to Hart and whatever backup PG they add...or Deuce.
