I havent seen a performance since Denzel in Training Day where I kept WAITING for the character to finally change (for the good)

when he said "I know it was you" I had that all at once.

In a way the end was like if Hoyt said fukk it I'm joining Alonzo at the end


Ok, probably a terrible comparison But I thought his performance was fantastic.

Finally saw this.

I haven't watched a proper movie that impacted me like this and had my heart beating in such a long time. You really can't ask for more.

Best lines of the movie were looks. The look of his dad as he realizes what he's watching, the look at the end. I love that. Insanity in the pursuit of greatness, a bloodymindedness I have never felt in my life.
