Which nba star from the 90s or early 2000s do you think would be average in today's game?

They're both round the same size with bout the same skill set drafted at round the same spot. The rest of that dumb irrelevant shyt y'all want to throw in the discussion is just a deflection. Kerr could play in today's league.
The athletic gap is significant and Guy is better at on ball actions.

Kerr was a supposed movement guy with limited movement skills. He one was a if someone drove and he was open for the catch and shoot. No one ran actions for him.

I don't your argument, Guy is just a much better prospect. That doesn't mean Guy will have the career Kerr had but he is much more talented and just flat out better.

Guy likely had much much more coaching and training which is expected in today's Basketball world with the stakes being as high as it is

I just posted Guy’s accomplishments goofy

Kerr was not a McDonald’s All-American
Kerr did not win Mr. Basketball for his state, Indiana is a good basketball state too.
Kerr did not win a natty.
Kerr was not the Most Outstanding Player of the NCAA Tournament.

Guy has some athleticism outside of being a shooter. He can dunk a basketball. He had some in game dunks at UVA and was in the dunk contest at the McDonald’s All-American festivities. 36.5 inch vert, 3.28 3/4th court sprint, 3.06 shuttle run, near 6’5 wingspan. He has plenty of quickness.

Can Fred van fleet dunk? Was he a McDonald's all American? Did he even go to a major? Was he even drafted? Is he even 6 ft?

Was he in the finals(both conference and nba)giving cats problems tho?

Nah I dont need you to answer nann 1 of those. Just

VanVleet would have had more exposure if he played for Chicago AAU teams instead of Rockford, Illinois where he’s from. He did his thing at a midmajor that’s all and was overlooked.

He is more skilled than Kerr, more athletic than Kerr, stronger than Kerr, and biggest of all better defensively than Kerr.

And even then it’s not a good example because you talking about a nikka that had to crawl his way into the league.

Why would Steve Kerr shyt on himself like that saying he wouldn’t play today? :ohhh:

I don't know why @Gravity being the old dumb nikka in here. Of course nikkas better today than the 90s. The nikkas in the 90s made the game great to where nikkas could make 1 million at min for nikkas today.

So guess what, there is an industry for the shyt.
AAU, dedicated coaches and trainers, skills coaches, film session with middle schoolers, i mean shyt, nikkas just way more advanced.

The 70s nikkas didn't have the advantages of the 90s nikkas. The 90s nikkas had even few internationals. It was a different world from when some of my college coaches played in the NBA. Those guys wouldn't sniff the league in the 90s but did play in the 80s. Look today. It's international. The MVP Nigerian Greek. Roy from Slovenia and that's with American nikkas who could go. The game global and amazing. You got an MVP who 7ft 240, nearly bigger than Hakeem going coast to coast constantly like Jordan.

You got AD at 7ft giving nikkas the business like a guard. The game just different folk. Embrace it. Don't be that old nikka. 1971 Caprice is better than the 2019 Bugatti. Anyday youngblood

Why would Steve Kerr shyt on himself like that saying he wouldn’t play today?
Because he works for the league dummy. Part of his job is to be an advocate not only for his team/players but for the league as a whole. I'm done even entertaining your bullshyt. I'm surprised I even argued over whether a guy who just retired in 2003 after playing 14 seasons on 5-6 championship teams with a career 45% 3point avg would be able to play in this analytics-driven specialized player league.

Y'all keep quoting/mentioning me, I'm clowning with insults and disrespect from now on.

I don't your argument
Thats why you should just shut the fukk up. You talk too much without having understanding.

You’re describing yourself lmao

Kerr himself said he couldn’t play in today’s game.

The breh @ISO is killing you in here
Kerr is a pr guy who advocates for the league. If the only ring you've got to contribute here is repeating some pr shyt Kerr said then just sit your little bytch ass down on the sideline and keep cheerleading waving pom poms.

What about back to back MVP Nash? Are you cats saying that he wouldn't be dominant in today's league?

The NBA don't work like it did in the 90s. You can't just put shooters at the top of the key or top right or left and $$$. You have to be able to get open. Zone defenses and better yet, blended zone schemes killed the era of solely guys who can shoot but can't move.

We are seeing in this era where even straight shooters who can move decently are getting pushed out for 3 and D guys who provide value on both ends as those shooters with decent movement skills are useless come playoffs. Now if you are a movement specialist like Korver or Redikk, where teams run off ball actions for you, there is always a place for you.

@Rhakim, you know what's really crazy. If you take Draxler to this era, he will fail but let's take Ben Simmons and drop him into the 1991 Blazers to replace Terry Porter.

The Blazers would have won 8 straight titles, no chaser.

A PG who is elite in the open court, in fast break, can cause turnovers, can take you off the dribble going left or right, is 7ft tall and fast af, no zone defenses so you can just lay off of him like a scrub, can kill double teams and rebound. What in the world of Ervin Magic Johnson fukk is this?

:mjtf:

For today's era, he is flawed but in that era :ohlawd:
