Where would you say Barack Obama ranks among important/influential African Americans in history?

Lemongrass, cherries, alkaline water
You gettin' all aggy now, calm yourself...

- What do you even mean "promoting the African American plight"? That phrase doesn't make sense here...
- You can argue Tupac's work is "classic literature" as well...
- Tupac is not my hero.
- I didn't dismiss her as "some" poet, those are your words.

Your post is dripping with feelings.

1.) Pick up X autobiography and learn something.
2.) I would not
3.) Hero/Father figure same thing
4.) Your words were she was a poet, and I'm showing you she was more than that.

1. YOU learn something, that sentence you put up there describing what she was doing in Ghana
would be ambigious to anyone who didn't know what she was doing.
2. Fair - but I and many others would disagree.
3. Still not applicable in my case
4. ...because that's what she's known for the most.

Obama - Pre 2008 MLK level swag, a Black God Tier figure.

Post '08 - :manny: Obama the president is a little less compelling than Obama the candidate. But his attainment of the goal is legendary even if his administration isn't

Im a Pac stan but putting him in a top 10 most influential black people of all time? Thats like a white person saying Elvis or Sinatra was top 10 over all the scientists/political figures they can choose from. Depends on what ur priorities are I guess :russ:

Like MLK, Barry turned his back on his friends, when question came about of their controversy. King did Bayard Rustin Dirty, Barry did Jeremiah Wright dirty, both were mentors to each. Soon as they begin making power moves they dont fukk with em nomore. King let uncle toms get in his head about rustin and his gay sexcapades and threaten to put king in it if he didnt quit fukkin with him.

Wrights agenda came out of context and people tried to make it like barry okayed it , people in his circle let him kno he need to not claim wright it could haunt you.

Mike Jackson, who is far and away the most influential music artist of all time MIGHT crack the top 20 most influential african americans in history, that might even be a stretch. And you got cats in here talking about Tupac top 10. I seriously got to question if ya'll have fathers

Off the top of my head:

Malcolm X
Marcus Garvey
Huey Newton
Fred Hampton
Bobby Seale
Angela Davis
W.E.B. Dubois
Martin Luther King
Nelson Mandela
Harry Belafonte
Fredrick Douglas
Thurgood Marshall
Haile Selassie
Bob Marley

I think Pac is one of the GOATS in music but he is not top 10, I would rank him top 20 for sure.
