Hrm on watches aren't reliable. Like Samsung, Apple, fit bit.

Polar is a heart rate monitor company. That's what they do, the other companies do other shyt and are like "Oh yeah we can track heart rate too...might not be 100% accurate but it's a cool *feature"

Polar is a heart rate monitor company, that's what they do, they do everything else secondary.

I use the h7 strap with my watch, I do have a cycling computer but my newer watch has more features than the older cycling cpu.

If you get the strap which can be got used on ebay, for like $25, you can use Polar beat (the app which I screenshotted) for workouts and you can use polar flow to track and manage your workouts for life. All free.

The h7 monitor with strap can be used with Samsung and apple and Google. They are all Bluetooth devices. The devices are good it's the programs that are either good or garbage.

Thanks, been researching the last few hours, I'm looking at the H7 or H10

Wat kind of watch do you have? I'm seeing that you can't connect the HRM to the Samsung watches, idk if that's right or not, I was under the assumption that if I connected the HRM to map my run, and then used my watch to start the work out, it would be tracking it live, but now I feel like it only does that if I start the work out on my phone after HRM is connected? Which defeats the purpose of the watch to me

I have the h7. I've heard good things about the h10 but I refuse to research because I've got a great thing.

It's feasible the h7 or other sensors might not sync with Samsung, I don't know if that's due to Bluetooth 5.0 or whatever or if Samsung just has a block. But sensors are generally universal, it's just a Bluetooth device. Samsung sometimes blocks or restricts certain things from working like, I have a Samsung TV box where I can stream from any samsung phone or tablet to that TV box but it blocks other tablets and phones that aren't Samsung. And my Bluetooth headphones and mic won't sync with my ps4 and other devices, yet there are Bluetooth headphones and mics that are compatible with Bluetooth for ps4

Do you use a chest strap monitor?

I found the Polar FT4 heart rate monitor my pops gave my a few years ago, never bothered to use it

Ppl say the HRM on smart watches aren't all that accurate, I'mma use this chest strap but put the watch it comes with on my handle bars, only thing that sucks is u can't export the data onto anything, now I'm looking for a chest strap monitor that's compatible with the S health app or map my run app, any suggestions?:manny:
My current tech setup:

Garmin 520 computer
Garmin heart rate chest strap
Garmin Varia radar tail light
4iii Precision power & cadence meter

My bicycle is worth more than my car:wow:

Samsung watches don't support external HRMs :francis:

Ppl been bugging them about it for years so I'm hoping they add it soon, it would make the watch perfect, an app developer actually made a watch face that supports external HRMs for Samsung watches, and from what I read it works flawlessly, so ppl are saying if he can do it why can't Samsung

I been spending way too much lately so I'mma hold off on the H10 till I see a deal on it:mjcry:

That sucks. I understand the convenience. You probably dropped a lot on the watch on for Samsung to be Samsung. There's not a lot they don't do but when you run into something they it's usually something you want.

Ive suggested the H7 strap and polar beat/polar flow to my boy who worked out for 4 days. I even let him borrow the strap. I have 2. I would've given it to him if he used it, but you know how that goes. At least with the strap you can wear your watch and just use your phone.

Yeah I’m getting buyers remorse for this watch :francis:

I should just use my phone for everything :beli:

It detects wen to pause a work out almost instantly , and I can use an external HRM with it, I just didn’t wanna be using up the battery but I have a power bank, all I would have to do is to either put it behind my phone on bike mount or buy it it’s own separate bike mount so I can charge my phone while riding it, saving myself hundreds

Anyways, bout to get ready for a possible 80 mile bike ride and gonna try out my new Smith attack max lenses :blessed:

Im fukking dead right now, I only took a few quick pit stops, I feel I can hit 80 if I stop somewhere to rest and eat a proper lunch :obama:

My watch said I burned 3639 calories

My polar strap said 4719 calories:whoo:

Were you using the ft4?

I need to sell my ladies for some change. I bought her the ft7 years ago.

She's not a tech head like me. She works out everyday, she knows if I'm home to just get started as quick as possible cause if I catch her getting ready I tell her to "get the strap." She doesn't use the h1 monitor or the ft7 anymore. I brought a second h7 monitor with Bluetooth so she uses that with her phone and polar beat/flow.

Yeah the FT4 , I'm tryna force myself not to Buy the H10, since this one was an Xmas present from like 4 years ago that I never opened :skip:

I can manually edit the calories burned on the app, which isn't too much of a hassle, just strap it on, press the polar watch button to start tracking Heart rate, then double click my Samsung watch to start the work out of my choice

I
still in my return window to return my Samsung watch, buy the H1, use my phone for all my work outs and just buy a cheap accurate step tracker :patrice:

Gonna spend the next few hours deciding :patrice:

I just looked the the h10....

The only difference between that and the h7 is the +ant technology, battery life (h10 has 400 hrs), and you can upgrade the firmware wireless you on the h10.

:manny: to be honest I don't know what firmware would need to be upgraded. You change your stats in the app, so as long as it records and transmits data I'm not seeing that as a selling point.

The battery thing is not much of a selling point. I change my battery once every 1.5 2 years...:yeshrug: just take the transmitter off the strap and it saves battery life. The battery's are like $2.

The +ant technology is cool, if you utilize it. I haven't utilized anything with +ant technology but the treadmills and ellipticals and shyt at my gym automatically pickup my heart rate from the h7.

You might be good copping an h7 monitor off eBay or for cheap cheap. No watch no computer just the strap.

Unless your looking into getting a new watch or cpu then yeah take back the Samsung watch.
