Society created by sick individuals created a hostile environment to children growing up. It's easy for many to see political sides of the argument but have to really look into the child's home-life first. Why is "My Little Pony" the only show the kid watches? Where is the father in the situation? How does his mother treat him?.

That's what i'm sayin, when are parents supposed to parent?[DOUBLEPOST=1397612036][/DOUBLEPOST]
Of course, kids are pretty much miniature psychotics so that's how shyt's going to be. I think it's okay to be to your kid "listen, you can like whatever you like but just be aware that people out there aren't always going to respond so positively to it." It's possible to hold that opinion and to also think that this kid did nothing wrong.

Yeah, this is just stuff that's becoming overblown because no one is teaching these kids how to cope or how to be discreet about those type of things. Honestly, I think this era's knack for overexposing is part of what's causing this crusade to make everything acceptable. It's to the point where its ridiculous I mean what the fukk, if you're a father why would your son even be watching shyt like that? Even as a mother, women certain things that's expected of men so its no excuse to raise punks. I'm not sayin they can fully substitute a father but they know enough not to raise no punks.

I really don't care at all about what kids show a kid chooses to watch. Like I'm not gonna try to understand the appeal of some of these shows. shyt, you think every parent understood the appeal of Spongebob?

I think explaining to your kid that people are going to react a certain way to some of his interests is a better route than policing his viewing habits, as long as he's not watching South Park or whatever.

So 11 year olds should be watching My Little Pony? Come on breh, this is just ridiculous. I'm not sayin it's cool for them to push the kid to suicide but clearly somebody let him down to begin with for him to be at such an impasse.
Is there something age inapporpriate about My Little Pony, Breh?

I'm not seeing the political connection here either. This is a eleven year old child. Right?

If it ain't my kid I don't care but a part of me still feel bad that they gotta go out like that. I won't lie, I watched Spongebob for a sec cuz it was a funny show to me when I get high. I dunno, its just that shyt was realer in regards to cartoons when I was a kid. I'm thankful my nephews watch wrestling and play fight, I'd way rather they do that over watching some shyt that'll make them soft. Call me old fashioned, but the new age era of sensitivity disgusts me sometimes especially in regards to the children.[DOUBLEPOST=1397612754][/DOUBLEPOST]

Yeah, My Little Pony is for little ass girls. 11 year old boys shouldn't be watching that type of shyt. Are you trolling me? :what:

What if the kid is gay? When I was that age, we could already tell who were the fruitcakes, and who were not.

one's sexual preference is out of his or her control. It's something that we are born with. Most likely, it is the product of an irreversible prenatal epigenetic process.

There is nothing the parents can do about that. Of course a gay person is more than likely going to like gay-ass shyt. The world just needs to accept the fact that he is homosexual and move on.

Kids are violent and they are prone to intense tribalism. The prefrontal cortex of a child's brain is not fully developed so they tend to behave in that manner. Of course they are going to bully and ostracize those that are different. The school and the parents need to realize that. The school should address the issue. Identify the kid as a part of a protected-group, and separated or segregated him from the rest of the kid's until the population of students have, on average, developed their prefrontal cortex

The sad part about OP's post is that this is what happens one subscribes the non-sense of tabula rasa. The assumption of humanity's "free will" leads to blaming humans for their actions when the only cause of human action are uncontrollable environment and biological factors combined with uncontrollable antecedent conditions.

So now liking My Little Pony is as extreme as cross dressing? Soon you'll be worrying about boys playing as Chun Li instead of Ryu and preferring strawberry ice cream to chocolate.

I watched care bears and my little pony as a kid as well as Gi Joes Ninja Turtles Ghost Busters...i turned out fine...its not like I had the pony toys I just watched whatever cartoon was on network television since we didn't have cable until I was about 10

but I doubt that was the only thing the kid watched is my point he just made the mistake of admitting it to his classmates and the issue here is his mental health if he's thinking of suicide at that age as well as the bullying but there are always going to be some level of ribbings growing up

in grammar school I remember everybody used to just crack on each other it was yo mamma jokes your so fat jokes your so ugly

Its about teaching your kid how to battle in that environment and hold his own and recognize its kind of like bonding when your friends make fun of each other

Couldn't agree more. Is it not child abuse if, let's say this kid's mother was almost purposely making him only watch My little pony for her own social/political experiment-like reasons or any other reason for that matter?

Did the child really choose MLP to watch or was it the mother? There are over 150 different cartoons out now, why was this cartoon the only appealing one? Spongebob has a few underline adult themes in it, so it appeals to children and adults.

Literally nothing in the article suggests that it's the only cartoon he watches or that his mother makes him watch it. It's all speculation on your part.

The fact that he watches it period and makes no secret about watching it is a problem in itself.

There was an internet movement for guys watching MLP and he probably got caught up in it.

Yeah, but that kid should also know that watching certain kids shows gon have people lookin at you sideways. Funny enough when I was in alternative school there was a student that was cool as hell but nikkaz found out that he watched Sesame Street and Barney so we started clowning him and he fukkin snapped. Of course lookin back on it as an adult it wasn't a good thing to do. But if you watch shyt like that you better learn how to be discreet.

So you agree that it was stupid to clown him, but the problem was really him all along.
