Take away the winning and Mike still stood out from his contemporaries. This isn't about MJ. He stands alone. I'm speaking on Bron being thrust above the likes of the all time assist and steals leader for instance, because he looks the part. I have no reason to believe Bron can't get there...but as of today....nope!

His highights stood out. He wasn't the clearcut best player until the league was devoid of talent. LeBron should not be penalized for playing in a talented era. You're really going to say he isn't better than John Stockton?

This the "devoid of talent" NBA Mike played against in his prime and after his 88 season everbody knew who the best player in the league was, not to mention the nikka came back and dropped 55 and hit the game winner in of a All Star game in this magical "athletic" era. Just because the league is dominated by guards and slashers and the big men aren't worth shyt now doesn't mean Bron is facing stiff competition. Who did he really have to go through to get this ring?

I'm not saying the 90s were devoid of talent.

that's a bit :skip:

but Mike has gone on record saying he felt cheated that by the time Chicago came into their own, BOS & LA was old & breaking down.

Devoid of talent? Mike went thru some of the best this game has ever seen to get rings! Don't discredit MJ's era to prop up Bron. Bron is great in his own right without u having to smear MJ name in the process. And historically speaking, yes Stockton is viewed as a better player to me. I know it doesn't go along with the Coli's "Black Excellence" theme, but how can u truly crap on the guy that's the all time leader in assist AND steals? Please keep things in perspective. Bron looks the part and i believe he will get there (top 10). But as of today, he's not. And its disrespectful to players ala Stockton who went 19 years deep and is the all time leader in two major stats to get tossed to the waste side cause Bron got a ring.

When Magic & Bird were playing, Jordan was not the clearcut best player. Most of those players on the list are in the class of Michael, Magic, Bird, LeBron, Kobe, etc.

Is Lebron not reaching his peak in the same way. LA is done unless they get a huge FA...Bostons Big 3 is finished,Spurs old,Mavs done etc..The Eastern Conference itself is just a joke period..his path to the Finals is pretty much set every year unless New York gets it togther or Rose comes back the same..both far fetched ideas. The Thunder is only thing standing in Lebrons way.

learn how to read a statline breh

fg 3pt freethrow rebs assists blocks points

Kobe played better in the Finals as a youngin.

Kobe played better in the Finals as a veteran.
I'm only looking at Kobe's finals performances before age 27.

This is how I would rank them.

2012 Lebron
2002 Kobe
2001 Kobe
2000 Kobe (He gets a pass. He injured his ankle in game 2. He also had a legendary OT game)
Lebron 2011
Lebron 2007
Kobe 2004

basically. If Rose or Durant don't stop him, Bron gonna be stacking rings for the next few seasons.

Yes, devoid of talent. What legit franchise changers entered the league from 1990 to say 1995? Robinson & Shaq? How many true franchise players were playing when Jordan was winning? How many of them were perimeter players? shyt how many decent teams were in the east when Jordan won?

Stockton played until he was about 41 years old. He should be the all-time leader in something that however does not make him "better" than anyone.
