Dirk is better than KG.

KG never got out the first round for like 7 years. At some point you have to stop blaming his teammates and put it on him. He rarely stepped up and had those monster 30 point games that superstars need to have to propel their team to the next level. Only time he really blew up was against the Kings that one year when they made it to the conference finals, and by then he had Sprewell and Casell to close out games for him. KG is very overrated.

Amazing what one championship can do for someone's legacy. 2 years ago he was a choker, now he was leading no talent Dallas squads on amazing playoff runs where he always stepped up :usure:

Dirk is better than KG and it's not even a question. KG has always been afraid to take the big shot at the end of games. Only thing is KG better than Dirk at is defense. :pacspit:

KG>Dirk easily. Only thing you can say Dirk is better at is scoring, KG does practically every thing better than Dirk. KG was elite on offense and defense. KG had the better MVP year compared to Dirk unquestionably and KG has won DPOTY, something Dirk can never wish to have. lol what coach, team owner, or who in there right minds would take Prime Dirk over Prime KG? :heh: That's a joke. lol at dudes trying to bring up KG not making it out of the 1st round in 7 years. You replace Dirk on those Timberwolves squad during that 7 year period, that T'Wolves ain't even sniffing the playoffs. KG carried that squad completely on his back. Flip Saunders has a job in the NBA because of KG. lol at this revisionist history about KG being what a 3rd or 4th option now? :what: KG was the best player on that squad, and even finished like 3rd in MVP voting in 08. Paul Pierce was practically trash for most of the 08 playoffs, but now since he had that one good series during that whole playoff run against the LAkers means he is the 1st option and carried the C's? Pierce winning Finals MVP was like when Tony Parker winning Finals MVP in 07 over Duncan. Yes Dirk has a finals MVP and had one of the greatest playoff runs ever, but come on now, is that really going to change everything and revise history now. Dirk had like a who's who of really good and quality players, while Timberwolves had McHale running things, who practically killed and set the Wolves back for almost like 10 years due to his incompetent moves. Dirk is great, and is a top 5 PF no doubt, but if we are going prime to prime, give me Prime KG>Prime Dirk anyday, KG can is capable of doing almost everything and anything on the court and is one of the greatest defenders ever in NBA history. But, I do like both Dirk and KG (NH) :obama: but are dope and great players.

a lot of dudes in this thread getting caught up in scoring and "clutchness" and forgetting about everything else.

smh@kg only being better at defense. yeah ok, like being one of the best defenders of his generation in comparison to a guy who's average at best is no big deal. like kg isn't a better passer...or rebounder...

I'll put him top 40 of all time. Don't know the exact number but Dirk would have been a beast in any era. A 7 footer with an umblockable jump shot will always thrive. But after his finals win and the media tried to give him top 10 i was like slow down hit the brakes on that one.

Garnett is just as skilled as those two.

Dirk has 25 foot range. Sabonis was a 3 point threat and the best passing big man ever. Sabonis used to throw up hook shots from the top of the key.

How is Garnett just as skilled as them? They were basically 7 foot guards.

Just off the top of my head, I'd have to say Dirk is at least top 10 all time at his position.

Garnett handles the ball a lot better than Sabonis, he's clearly a better passer than Nowitzki. Garnett has more fluid post moves than both even though he didn't spend enough time there. He didn't have three point range but he definitely has very long range for a big man. And Garnett is as mobile as any big man ever created.

Garnett was basically a seven foot guard if you're calling those two seven foot guards.

Edit: And let's not even mention defensive skills when comparing KG to Sabonis and Dirk. :scusthov:

Defense is an entirely different story. But in terms of offensive skill set, Garnett isn't even close to those Euros.
