when talking about top nba players why isnt clyde drexler talked about?

i didn't duck shyt. drexler had a better squad than the 06 heat, and probably better than the 09/10 laker squads, was apart of the best backcourt duo at that time, and he couldn't get it done.

1. Kobe's a 6'7 guard/forward and hits a higher percentage of his shots and has a more complete game. He's a better jump shooter and has a better post game (obviously). He should shoot more than Iverson, who at 6'0 should have been a point guard. Plus, Kobe's a better defender than Iverson and made 10 all defense teams. He's not in Kobe's league and that's why nobody puts him there.
2. Carmelo and Iverson never made it past the 1st round of the playoffs. Who cares about winning 50 games? 2 superstars are supposed to challenge for a championship and they never even came close.
3. Pippen made all-star teams BECAUSE of the player Jordan (and to a lesser extent Charles Oakley) turned him into. He averaged 7 points a game as a rookie. It was the bullying of Oakley and Jordan (who often bullied teammates) that made Pippen and Grant suitable players. Everybody who followed those teams knows that. Pippen was known for folding like toilet tissue every year in the playoffs and getting his asswhooped. And yes, Pippen had ONE good year without Mike which included an All-Star MVP, but the very next season was almost disasterous for the Bulls without Jordan and they almost missed the playoffs and were under .500 before Jordan came back in March to propel the Bulls into the Eastern Conference Finals.
Don't forget 1.7 seconds with him punking out and don't forget Houston and Portland teams that he punked out on as well.
4. Jordan was a failure in Washington because he was 38 years oldYeah, a 38 year old who's been retired for 3 years and smoking cigars, chillin' is gonna lead a Wizards team that has sucked for a gazillion years to a championship.
Before Pippen, Jordan was an MVP, a scoring champion, set all kinds of records. The teams that he played against (Bird's Celtics/Isiah's Pistons) were just wayyyy better. If Jordan had ANY help other than Brad Sellers and John Paxson, he would've eventually won a championship. That's why he MOLDED Pippen into a good player. He wasn't one for the first 2 or 3 years he was in Chicago.

those nuggets squads were indeed top 3 teams in the west those years. they were basically a better version of what the clippers are to the west coast now, but without the hype.
lol @ the idea that pippen was magically molded into a hall of famer by jordan & oakley. if thats the case, then why didnt they do the same for their other teammates?

youre making it seem like jordan came back and carried the '95 bulls.
youre ignoring the fact that horrace grant was now in orlando - the new conference champions, others were gone and the whole early '90s bulls squad had run its course. they later added rodman and basically revamped the roster before they went on their late '90s run.
jordan gets way too much credit. let pippen go play baseball, and leave jordan there without horrace & them in '95, and they dont have many more wins by march.
He's not though.
The bulls were in a rut 34-31 when Jordan came back, Yes losing GRANT was huge, the bulls probably win 50-52 with horace being back and no michael. I'm not discrediting that at all.
he was essentially with the same team that wade and kobe played with to varying degrees of success in the mid 00s.
Kobe and wade both had an aging but still dominant shaq. and overhill formally dominant powerforward/center in malone/mourning. and a over the hill pg in payton.
Drexler had that same squad with Hakeem/Barkley/cassell
kobe was the only the one who no success tho.
The thing is he would've been successfull in their place.
Now tell me what player in that group is carrying the blazers to a title over the 90 pistons and 92 bulls
Kobe had a prime shaq, and Wade had still a 1 first team all nba shaq in 05.
None the less Shaq >>>>> Duckworth, Porter, Kersey etc..
Again, Drexler, Dream, Barkley, were over the hill as well, while wade and kobe were in their 20's in their prime. If that Houston team had formed in 1990 we would have a substantially different discussion today when it comes to GOAT and all that.
