Summer Jam had an huge impact on Prodigy, the majority went from looking at him as a real dude to a joke. In hindsight that picture and the reaction to it showed that most people really think rappers are thuggin' from the womb, as silly as that sounds

When that happened to Mobb Deep back in 2001, I began to wonder what other rappers were faking that thug image. Over the years after gradual exposures, I began to say @ the images and focus strictly on the music.

Most of you are forgetting 'HNIC', P wasn't seen as THAT much on the decline, I clearly remember everyone expecting a stunning retaliation from the Mobb, and it became apparent quickly it wasn't going to happen with 'Burn', and after 'Infamy'....He embarrassed himself, and the Mobb's legacy...He was coming off a gold album, that was pretty critically acclaimed, though his lyrics had taken a dive...I want to do a thread about those little moments when you knew P was falling off...

Now whether or not Ashanti gave the pic to Jay...if you have another explanation you can give it...Prodigy is only guessing himself, but only because it does make the most sense...how else would he have gotten the pic?

Yea, that's obviously a picture of him before he was 10. And you make a good point, the other pics that Prodigy shows in his book, where he's in his teens, he looks much older than those Summer Jam pics.

Jay put Pee on that Summerjam screen in 2001 and it was funny for the moment...but why is Prodigy's album so much better than Jays in 2013?? I still listen to AE and threw Jays shyt in the bushes after 2 weeks, that forgettable ass album
