fukk that song!
KNo ur not. U dont know shyt about music.
fukk that song!
That nikka held 2007 summer jam down for y’allnikkas hated that Mims shyt too. That nikka flopped so hard after that track and I remember this clearly because he tried to come back REALLY rapping and copped pleas talkin about how that song wasnt really him as a rapper. Still noone took him serious cause he jumped out the gate wit that bullshyt. I wish nikkas would stop talkin bout what was goin on in my city when they not from here.
The simplicity of the record offended people. The 3 note beat, the Dr Seuss lyrics, the dance... literally took no skill to put together, and the fact that it achieved MAJOR success and was being championed over songs from other artists with actual skill and respect for the craft, made people angry.
Not to mention that it pretty much represented a changing of the guard. There was a clear agenda, with viacom pushing aside Little Brother, Nas etc. and any other record that was deemed “too intelligent” (their words verbatim) for this dumbed down shyt to feed to the masses.
It’s not that complicated.. I personally liked the song, but I was also like 12..
Just a music fan.
Hiphop has a negative connotation IMO
Horrible bro. Lol. We dubbed this nikka somethin serious after “This Is Why Im Hot”. There’s a million mixtape rappers n shyt that shytted on that kid. I was starting to feel bad for him. LolThat nikka held 2007 summer jam down for y’all
Maaan....I did hate lollipop.....Same nikkas champion wayne as some legend...fukk outta here
If any one song is responsible for killing hip-hop its that fakkot ass lolipop song.
That was I think D4L, Fabo and crew.....I consider myself a hip hop head, a moderate to liberal one, but still a hip hop head......and honestly if you had a sexy freak wit you and some good trees that album became pretty entertaining and sometimes the culture needs that....I can’t do that to smiff n wessun or west side gunn......I don’t consider laffy taffy (pure hip hop) but it’s a cousin of it and can chill at the bbq. It has its place....cuz hip hop ain’t shyt without bad women gettin live sometimes. You answered your own question with the bold.
Frankly, I love "Laffy Taffy"...but as a "lighthearted dance record".
There is a time and place for "lighthearted dance records"...and most "hip-hop heads"
did not think that "time" was 10x a day on the radio, or that place was near the top of the charts
as the representation of what was "hot" in hip-hop.
To put in context of just how much airplay "Laffy Taffy" got in its time,
It is the #602 Most Played Single Of All-Time,
14 spots ahead on the next closest rap single, Biggie - "One More Chance/Stay With Me Remix".
But whatever, I still shout "CANDY GUH-UHHL" at random.
I guess. To me, that's choosing between sipping diarrhea or biting firm turds. Wither way, you're eating shytSnap era was woat and I’ve been on record saying that many times. I’d take today over that era any day. I’d much rather listen to 21 Savage or Kodak Black then some of that bullshyt
Lies nikka, they hated mims for this
Problem is Laffy taffy left it’s lane and was everywhere, what followed was possibly the worst 5 year stretch in the history of hip hop.
Negged :peeumad:Prodigy's rotting nuts
