It's not about benefit. It's about being a human being, having a problem with what someone says and responding. Critiquing Taylor's actual comments I have no problem with. Critiquing him for making the comments in the first place I have a problem with. Marc Cuban had a problem with Skip, went on the show and proceeded to break both of those dudes down with knowledgeable and logical arguments. In the process, he made Skip look like he knew nothing about the sport of basketball. That doesn't lend him credibility, it takes it away in the eyes of the knowledgeable viewer. The media is often referred to as the fourth estate or fourth branch. But here's the thing: the branches all have checks and balances so that they don't get too powerful. Who checks the media? It's the public's job to check the media.

I agree that it is the public's job to check the media. My point was that if Taylor's intent was the get to keep his name out of his mouth then that was most certainly not the best way to go about it. It's chess not checkers.

Cuban went on there, ethered them nikkas, and they were right back to talking the same shyt they always talk as if nothing happened the moment he left and people still were tuned in. As a matter of fact more people prolly tuned in just to see Cuban, I know I did. Jalen's most salient point was that Bron going on there would only lend credibility to the show. No matter what you do or say as a prominent figure, if it's on the show it benefits them. No matter what you do or say to them as a prominent figure, it benefits them. So if you don't want to encourage them or help them or lend them credibility your only option is to ignore them. Anything else on helps them. You aren't gonna get them to shut up. You aren't gonna get them off the air. Your only recourse is the withhold the one thing that they hold dearest...attention.

at the oversimplification. If Steven A or Skip used some of the language that is used on here or aligned themselves with some of the ideology espoused by some nikkas on here they would be gone immediately. Entertainers or not there is a certain standard that they must meet to make it on TV everyday. Beyond that they are the ones who constantly throw the journalism card whenever they are challenged so in that case it's only fair that they get held to journalistic standards and they do not meet those.
