What happened to Gen z and the younger Gen in music? The majority of the top music acts in every genre are in their 30s or they are pushing 30

Older acts have experience

Also a lot of people named were the ones people used to say it’s a young persons game.. These artists are just getting older now.

Who paved the way for Millennials? :ufdup:Generation X

Generation X lived through the golden age of pop culture. Music included.

Cut from a different cloth, they were the trendsetters. Rebellious against Baby Boomers.
Man fukk most new music but ain't nobody thinking about whether our crusty asses paved the way for anything or not.

Don't move the goalposts. If we're going to go there then I'll post newer artists and nggaz will say "who's that" well no shyt yall don't know them. They're just starting out and will be big eventually. Billie eillish first single was in 17 or 18 and now people won't shut up about her in certain corners.

Kali uchis showed up in 2018 and she's still selling out venues. Baby keem has features with Kendrick Lamar and he's 22 and started making music in 2017. Olivia Rodrigo is 20 and people didn't know who that was in 2015 but she's selling out too. Key glock is 26 and is putting out hits and cac Harlow is popular with gen z and he's 25.

There aren't maybe as much because a lot of young people would rather make money as streamers and because they're waking up to the absolute horror show that is the music industry and Hollywood. Why subject yourself to be treated like shyt by managers and promoters when you can be in total control of your image and make money on your own terms?
I think the problem is yes you are probably right about all those artists you named but older people don’t know who they are lol. I think about when my mom was my age she knew about all the rappers and singers from my era. Video shows was still a thing anc you’d see artists appear on sitcoms and other types of shows. How do older music fans get to know the younger artists without having to get online and look for them? The thing is once the artists you named fall off, it’s over for them cause y’all the only ones that know them lol. That boost that people like Snoop got definitely helped him become what he is today. Imagine where Snoop would be if the only way we found out about his music was by digging in the crates and hopefully word of mouth? These newer artists are doing well when they’re poppin but they definitely have a longevity problem. Man there’s a long list that are pretty much completely forgotten or have to resort to doing dumb shyt for attention.

Billie eillish is still in her early 20s
Ice spice is 23
Bad bunny is only just about to hit 30 next year
Lil yachty is 25
Jorja Smith is 26

I said majority of the top acts in almost every genre are in their 30s or they are pushing 30. I did not say Gen z and the younger Gen are not making hits or doesn't have top acts. I am saying these acts are not making up the majority of the top acts. They are in the minority of top acts.

Bad Bunny is 30/ pushing 30.
Billie Eillish is big but she is nowhere near as big as she was couple of years ago
Lil yachty is not a top act.
Jorja Smith is not a top act.
Ice Spice has buzz.

Non of these male rappers know anything or address anything about politics, social issues going on

And all the women are twerking shaking, dikk sucking, p*ssy sweet talking chicks…..u a record label all u have to do is let these hoes have a birkin bag , a car and a few dollars and u can raped all the profits they might get, because these hoes only like to be seen

:mjlol: People got to remember even in the 90s there wasn't really a whole bunch of young dudes popping either. Dudes was in their mid 20's and 30s still running the game.

Pac was 25 when he died. Biggie was 26 when he died. Snoop was young as hell when he was on 'The Chronic' and then when 'Doggystyle' came out.
