I think the average dumbass understands the story. Job is rewarded for his faith. God is the ultimate provider, the ultimate taker. God is the source of all glory and suffering. God owes us no explanation for His actions. We may only know His Grace through suffering and all the Sunday school bullshyt.

this doesn't change God's hoe like personality, Satan trolling God or how it would take a seriuosly disturbed person to be able to cut the bonds of his loved ones because they'd be rewarded later.

What? That wasnt the point of the story. Job didnt find enlightenment, he was relatively the same person before and after God sonned him. In fact, after the sonning, Job learned to stop questioning God's motivates. How is embracing ignorance/blind faith "enlightenment" as we define it?
