Yet an artist like bruno mars can get hits with clasic r&b sound and don't get me started on adele. Even without going through r&b black female singers were still represented in pop. I think it's bigger then beyonce.

Beyonce is like a corporation any sign of threat to her status she gets said threat removed and its also cause the powers that be chose her.

In the entertainment industry there's unwritten rule called "one nikka at a time".
Cacs have the freedom we don't to where several of them can occupy the number one spot. Along with the fact that their people run all of the industries of entertainment from sports to Hollywood.
For comedy it's Kevin Hart.
For rap it's Drake.
For R&B/Pop it's Beyonce.
Adele is their R&B/Pop white hope but that goes without saying.
For basketball it's Stephen Curry even though Lebron is an arguably better player. The ridicule Bron gets is way more harsher than the ridicule that Steph gets if any. The reasoning for this is obvious because lighter complected people are more palatable to the white mainstream.
This same fact goes on and on.
Tokenism isn't restricted to just socialization.
But there are however exceptions to every rule.

Because females think like nikkas now. They don't care about love. They need status, fame, and money.

They listen to trap music.
This is an interesting point. What do you think cause the shift to that mentality?

The R&B shift to center (pop) has been propagated since the 1950s. The world wanted Black sound, in a white package. Except Black people. We stopped making music for ourselves, that's why other people are pandering...and because our culture and music are almost one in the same, we cringe and laugh most white pop acts off. You can hear some history (and perhaps future) in SZA, Sevyn Streeter, Keyshia Cole, and Jasmine Sullivan etc. The last two are almost out of the picture though.

Expectations of black female image changed. Biracial passed off as blk women impacted this too. Talent is no longer a qualifier for the music industry.
You have to be half-white with good cross over appeal to succeed as a "blk" female in the industry.

Also There are still plenty of blk female R&B singers

Seyvn Streeter
Justine Skye
Teyana Taylor
But R&B used to be marketed as universal but now it's marketed as niche unless there is some type of crossover appeal and many in our community are trying to crossover themselves so they make a big deal out of marketing themselves as the blk person that is "cool and likes white music"

I can believe this. i've seen this with my own eyes.
