SLF S2 Episode 4 finished the last few pages of chapter 66 and adapted chapters 67 + 68. 68 is a good stopping point since the next episode will be the Golden Scorpion fight. I am really excited to see how the fight looks.

Man Towa showing why their clan has a stranglehold on the other clans was intimating. Makes me wonder why there was any reason for Sunraku or Kei to be considered to be the clan leader given what she did in Unite Rounds. Though her mentioning the word kill again gives an indication that she will do what is in the best interest of their clan first and foremost.

I loved the rest of the episode because as a gamer, the worst thing in patch notes is when nerfs happen, but what exactly it is isn't clearly written. Usually in the terms of adjustments were made by Ai. Sunraku coming off with a new strategy was pretty cool and showcases that in even the worst situations there exists a solution.

Asahi continuing being the most approachable to Uryu so far. Despite her best efforts, it is just like how Uryu says later in the episode, Yae is the best of the 3 at keeping secrets. Though she's really getting bothered with Uryu treating her like a kid. Not surprising given she is the youngest.

Screen_Shot_2024-11-05_at_1.45.38_PM.png

Though I'd love the scene when Asahi comes in after her two gifts break. She knows that it isn't the gift that matters, but the thought of it and Yae & Yuna have their own special way of demonstrating that. Of course, Uryu got barely any sleep, partially because he didn't know it was Asahi's birthday and felt guilty. Though fixing them and learning on the fly is actually really impressive. You know that truly shows again that he cares about the sisters.

Mahiru does have a point. He complains of the sisters' poor traits, but she can read him like a book. The way he worded that was an excuse that he had to do these things for the sisters. It doesn't mean the sisters are incapable of doing these things for themselves and there are times he needs to let them struggle and not always depend on him. There are times when they will need his help and will ask for it or the opportunity will come. As she says, he is incredible kind to help others, but there needs to be a limit to it. After all, he has his studies he has to stay on top of.

It is actually really interesting that Yuna was mentioning they are starting to rely on him too much. Which is part of the issue Mahiru is worried about. Of course, Yuna can be a little harsh on her end, so it was nice for her trying to show her appreciation in the most awkward way possible.

Watching through episode 9 of Beastars S2 we got the awaited reunion of Legoshi and Louis. Louis now being Shishigumi's boss, the interesting thing in this scene is that both of them learning where the other stands. The gang of Shishigumi truly cares for Louis. At the same time for Louis realizing a lot of Legoshi's goals are things he is striving as he mentions he finds out who Tem's killer. This is shaping up for Legoshi to be the Beastar rather than Louis which is a big change from where it was at the beginning of S1. Legoshi being the hero out in the world and Louis being the hero in the underground.

Also, the tense scene between Legoshi and Riz was fantastic. Unlike with Tao, Riz's crimes are unknown to the rest of the club. When Legoshi hears Riz talking about Tao's sins it angers him because how dare you judge another person's sins for what you have down. You did the unthinkable of eating a herbivore, and you don't feel guilty about it. Meanwhile, we see Riz slowly overcome being traumatized as he visits Kibi. Curious how the season wraps up.

10/10 episode :wow: :mjcry:

Overall, the first half was executed beautifully. Seeing Shakuyaku's past was painful. I don't recall their hair being brought up in part 1 and the fact her mom died in childbirth is just extra pain to be felt. I know each person under the Void's control is suffering in their worst fears, but seeing her going through that was heartbreaking. Shinsuke being her knight in shining armor I loved. It had to be him to save Shakuyaku.

Meanwhile, we see Kagan in pain, and it makes it even more sad for Shakuyaku because they promised they were as one as Shakugan. While that was happening, we got to see in parallel the two kids that Shakuyaku wanted to save that got named Shakuyaku & Kagan. Then seeing the flower blooming gives indication to me that Shakugan has come back to Shinsuke. Absolutely fantastic scene.

It was nice to see Tsukiko finally having a moment to prove herself. She has been in Senya's shadow since the start and her working with Mudo was really nice. Though them having to fight Banshou-oh in a human like form is scary. Like the idea that is much superior to a Land God, and now they have to fight it is a tough thing to come to face. The void people getting to him first really was a big headache.

Man this episode was just depressing AF :mjcry:

Not too much Hestia POV in this episode, but you can see how heartbroken she is about this whole situation. It isn't ready to go to Hermes for help and Aiz getting involved would just make the situation 1000 times worse. Though gives me the feeling of the end of S3 where Hestia navigated the whole Xenos situation. I feel like she is going to get a chance to really shine, but she has to be patient.

Horn is alive and honestly, it only makes sense for Freya to keep her alive as she can help her with loose ends. Ouranos really can't do anything against her and if she is saying, her children will continue making progress on the dungeon, he really isn't in any position to try to interfere. It does make me wonder regarding the Xenos. I imagine Bell won't be tackling the dungeon since he is training with the Freya Family.

The Eina scene was a highlight to show that misery is happening to more than just Bell. Hestia is putting onto a brave face and her sees what she wrote in Bell's log and her realizes how much she cares about him. Then Freya coming and just brainwashing her for a second time and her forgetting her memories with tears down her face was just incredibly depressing.

Freya more and more as a villain in this arc is being done extremely well. Man you can only, but empathize for Bell. Training is rough, but at least throughout this season he will get stronger. Though how Freya updates his states and gets satisfaction of breaking Bell makes me feel pretty uncomfortable. Then her mixing true and lies with Bell's real past is just even worse to add on.

Man, I don't know what hope Bell has at this point. I am curious if Bell will ever interact when Horn is Freya. That would be interesting. Heith who is the Freya Family's healer, seems to have ALOT on her plate. It seems Freya is more so in love with how pure Bell is given how she started laughing on her bed at the end of the episode.

Fantastic episode and Ice might have had the biggest impact on Tsunehiro so far from an emotional standpoint. Obviously, Takaaki helping with his debt and being there for him is huge for Tsunehiro as well. In the perspective of Tsunehiro, Ice lives her life to the fullest. Meanwhile, Tsunehiro is barely hanging on and to him, how Ice lives is just saw dropping. Though her cosplays were remarkable.

The surprise party really hit him in the feels hard. He is really starting to grow a liking to the guys and girls more and more. Then the line of life goes on for those around you made him think when he dies how will they react? Most likely the tears came from him wanting to tell them of his condition, but he wasn't ready. I feel like we are finally getting Tsunehiro getting to the point where he is finally valuing his life.

This episode finished up Volume 2 by adapting chapters 12-14. They went hard af when Okarun heard those guys mentioned Momo would sleep with anyone. Fantastically adapted.

Regarding Aira they nailed her true debut episode here. Plenty of scenes were extended with her to really showcase that she is a defender of justice. Her holding the ball in class was not in the manga for example.

Once again how colors are done so well. In the Okarun scene that I mentioned above and the moment she sees Silky outside when nobody else does when it turns red. They when Silky approaches Momo & Aira it turns pink instead of red which we have seen mostly so far. Pink emphasizes femininity, youth, innocence, sweetness, immaturity, inexperience (especially sexual), empowerment, and female sexuality. (According to google)

1 minute into the episode and the banter between Turbo Granny & Momo + Okarun is perfectly especially with Momo. A big part of the first episode is Okarun thinking for a second that Momo is actually cute was great. It really shows that Okarun truly wanted Momo as a friend, and he has trouble processing the fact he starts to think she is cute. Plus him getting upset and switching to his Turbo Granny form without realizing was brilliantly executed.

This was Aira's true debut episode. God the comedy here was great. Aira's logical for thinking she is a defender of justice and for praising treasuring the golden ball. The comedy after Momo realizes that Aira has Okarun's ball was fukking hilarious. Though on the bad news, having that ball implies their spiritual powers awaken. At the very least, Aira can see that Yokai which makes quite a mess of the situation.

Love the shift to a pink color since pink resembles Aira and her beliefs and traits. Turbo Granny calling the Yokai small fry was great. Though Momo was lucky to get out of the situation. With Okarun with Momo hopefully they can mount the comeback starting in the next episode.
