A 7? Well that's actually much higher than I anticipated, gonna have to move that up the backlog then. Just finished Wind Breaker so I've got to pick up another one this weekend. :wow:
There aren't so much action shows that I have been keeping up with besides this and Wistoria. Next season got a boatload of them. (Prob ain't touching Blue Lock if they don't improve that animation quality because the 2nd cour visuals was :scusthov:.)

The Elusive Samurai is mostly character building now, but damn the visuals on the series are doing more than the manga justice :wow:. The most visual pleasing anime since Sousou no Frieren. The manga is pretty good too, so when we get to the good stuff in S2/cour 2 :blessed:

As Nadeko enters the Araragi house, she comes across not Meek Nadeko, but Wrath Nadeko. In terms of a 1-on-1 mind game, this was a challenge for Nadeko. Simply with how aggressive Wrath Nadeko and how current Nadeko is still going through growing hurdles. Though the clever strategy of taking a blow to get hit with the Chisel, so that Wrath Nadeko gets sucked in was an interesting strategy. Though it was more likely one that was luck-based that it worked out.

The final words on what Wrath Nadeko says are very interesting. "If it is too much pain then stop." This is the type of mindset that Nadeko Sengoku would have fallen for in the past. Essentially, she would run away from her problems and let Koyomi Araragi handle it. Or in the case of Kaiki when she became a God. With her being responsible and wanting to be accountable is good to see.

After getting changed, Nadeko heads to the shrine where she finds Ononoki scattered. The interesting thing here is that it seems God Nadeko is using Meek Nadeko as a decoy. Ononoki fell for Meek Nadeko and God Nadeko took care of her. Given how Nadeko mentions how easily Meek Nadeko could be intimated it lines up. The fact that each of the Nadeko's are Shikigami means that their appearance is based on a form of Nadeko Sengoku. The idea they could evolve into a different form of her is both scary and interesting. Having two of the God Nadeko would be a disaster.

Also to it receiving help isn't an option since this was Ononoki's mistake to begin with. Kind of a reputation on her line so asking Gaen for help isn't in the cards. But also asking the new God, Hachikuji isn't an option too. Gods aren't supposed to show favoritism and there is nothing they could give her to justify helping them. Though given Hachukuji's personality I think it isn't something she would think too hard about. The idea that God Nadeko would take over as God of the shrine is a scary thought. Ononoki's idea of using Flirty Nadeko and Wrath Nadeko is interesting. But how would they be able to keep them in line this time?

Elusive Samurai and Oshi No Ko are neck and neck on the animation tip imo. Oshi No Ko has been going CRAZY animating some of these acting sequences.

Prob add Wistoria. More cliché than these series in terms of writing. Action wise, the animation is top tier. The fact it's topping the manga top-tier art is still crazy too me.

Yoshihara popping off with Wistoria is funny since it showcases what he could have done with Black Clover if he was given the seasonal format rather than the weekly one that he had for that series. Since obviously seasonal format gives better resources and time for obvious reasons. Looking at how much better Bleach looks now visually when compared to when it was running weekly back in the day.

Yeah, I have Wistoria just a slight notch below, and only because the action is more straight forward, but it's smooth as hell. When Will had to land a blow on the Professor Snape of the school or get expelled...that whole episode was full of elite animation.

As Nadeko and Ononoki regroup, Ononoki brings to mention what Nadeko's goals are. First, since being saved by Kaiki she has been chasing her dreams. Failing once and giving up is a terrible way to do things if you are striving to do that. The other is to be considered harmless by Gaen. Now this goal is a little trickier. After all, given how both Koyomi and Shinobu are considered harmless, this isn't a cut and dry thing. Though failing to round up the Nadekos would make this case harder for Nadeko Sengoku.

But learning from her failure is only part of it for Nadeko. Seeing all of these forms of Nadeko Sengoku is in a way of her tackling her past selves. They each represent a different stage of her life.

  • Meek Nadeko represents her when she had no goals for herself in life.
  • Flirty Nadeko represents her aiming all of her attention towards Koyomi Araragi and how that lead to more pain for her.
  • Wrath Nadeko represents when the frustration finally hit her and she lashed back.
  • God Nadeko represents when things didn't go her way, she basically gave up on life to become a God.
While all of these forms aren't bad, it is how she went about it. Flirty Nadeko could be better used representing her attention on strengthening her manga skills. Wrath Nadeko would be better spent using that energy being more assertive for her benefit. The Nadeko Medusa arc was the first step for her as she needed someone and in this case, Kaiki to give help to steer her life in the right direction. Now it comes to Nadeko taking control of her life now that she has goals for herself.

Ironically, Nadeko and Ononoki approached the bookstore, which was the first time we met Nadeko. The discussion of alternate plans involves asking Shinobu aka Kiss-shot Acerola-orion Heart-under-blade for help, but that would require getting Koyomi Araragi involved. Which is the exact worst thing that Nadeko needs. There is also the dilemma of what happens if they get Gaen or Hachikuji to help. Either way, Gaen will be informed and this would be a failure on Ononoki's side and more elude the danger that Nadeko potentially brings.

When they approach the bookstore, Ononoki and Nadeko get separated. In which Nadeko finds Meek Nadeko. Unlike with Flirty or Wrath Nadeko, seeing Meek Nadeko looking at the Occult section reminded her when she reunited with Koyomi in the bookstore. What would have happened if Koyomi didn't approach her back then? Would she have died? Or would someone else have helped her? Would that have been a better outcome? It is hard to say, but everything in life happens for a reason.

Funny enough as she says that the bookshelves start falling and on top of her. In which her monologue shifts to her in the now. She mentions how she should have gotten in proper fights. This is more her implying not just accepting things for just happening. Then she wishes she were friendlier to Shinobu and Hitagi. Shinobu had her figured out before she became a God, and she would have never gotten along with Hitagi with her meek personality.

Flirty Nadeko saves her when she least expects it. It was a very sweet moment. More so gives Nadeko the push needs to go forward. It is a silly conversation, but it is very appropriate for a middle schooler. It aligns with her goals. She promises to draw Flirty Nadeko better. She is steadying her resolve to strengthen her manga skills. The casualty of this is that Meek Nadeko got crushed. This represents what would have happened if Koyomi didn't reunite with her. It is an event she needed to learn from Though it is scary that God Nadeko just let her be crushed like that.

As Nadeko came to corporation with Flirty Nadeko, she realizes the key to beating God Nadeko is working with Wrath Nadeko. If you recall Wrath Nadeko received that haircut from Tsukihi. It was a way to push her to expose herself, but Nadeko was turned off by that. Her idea is to give Wrath Nadeko the hairstyle she has now. Clearly it is a style she is confident at the very least. More than likely, it would be something that Wrath Nadeko would like and would make for fun tactics since they would look very similar. Curious how they go about against God Nadeko.
