Great episode to finish up this arc

I really like the line from Marc. That sure Kraft might make a lot of money and succeed as a merchant, but his losses will be great. There are simply things in this world to us that money can't buy. Marc with his family given why he had guidelines to help Kraft. For Kraft, it is Holo.

Man Holo can be quite ruthless. Kraft owning up that he didn't trust Holo. Tbh sometimes it is challenging to be rationale given the circumstances. All he can do is own up and say he should have trusted her. The big thing is not to play things and talk things out. Communicating is such a simple concept that so many people fail to do. For Holo the trust she feared was one-sided, but she came to realize she was overreacting. Though hearing those words while hiding in Diana's place was enough for her to understand his feelings. Although for men, getting these feelings out isn't the easiest.

Also hearing that Diana was a bird like how Holo is a wolf. Her answer of do Pagan Gods and Humans get married came from personally experience, makes it really sweet. Great way to finish up the arc for Kraft to have self reflection on how to better himself going forward. 6 episodes left for the last arc this season will cover.

Damn, that sucks because it feels like there were some more stories to be told. I can see ending with a focus on Ryota might be split among fans, but I thought the story was very good. At least they went out with a bang because that film was very good.
Dude has 3 Goat mangas, but 2 of them aren't finished, and you know people aren't happy with how Slam Dunk ended to what I understand. Sometimes with these mangaka they got some great fukking ideas, but executing it and putting it to paper is harder than most people realize. There is a reason why so many Weekly series (especially those that are published into WSJ) fall apart. Creating that great foundation is hard, but executing is even harder.
Slam Dunk's "ending" always felt to me like a hit TV show getting canceled without any notice and having a series finale 2 seasons before it should've had.

And for 25 years it was even worse because the anime didn't even get to the last arc of the manga so a lot of people didn't even know there was material about the National tournament. That's why the movie is such a triumph because somehow Inoue was able to show in 1 game everything we've been wanting to see for such a long time.

But still, it's bittersweet because you know there was so much more potential material left on the table. Haikyu copied Slam Dunk almost bit by bit, even the very weird ending, but even their rushed finish was more developed than what we got in SD :mjcry:

I hear you because I watched Slam Dunk 5 years ago or so, and was confused at the ending. I looked up online to see if it was cancelled, and I see it wasn't. I've always found it weird because that show was a cultural phenomenon, and inspired a lot of shows. You can tell a lot of sports animes try to follow in its footsteps, so it was weird to see it end just like that.

It still feels crazy Haikyu is finishing the series with 3 movies. I could've sworn the show was popular and many would've supported finishing the series in a season format.

The Haikyu finish probably has to do with anime studios realizing there's more money to be had with hit box office movies than selling blue rays of the anime season. And in the case of Haikyu, they know it's gonna be a hit.

The funny thing is that I'm not sure they'll ever animate the last arc of the manga with the beach volley stuff :pachaha:

Start a new arc where now we focus on Nadeko Sengoku, which we haven't gotten since Nadeko Medusa arc back in Monogatari Season 2. The issue Nadeko is facing is that while she did find her passion thanks to Kaiki. The problem is her parents. As expected, of Japanese parents they see Nadeko drawing and think it is a waste of her time. It is quite ironic that the parents that spoiled this girl rotten much like how Koyomi did are denying the one thing she has a passion for.

The issue is that Nadeko needs to improve enough to show she can make money within one year. More reasonably, it would take Nadeko 3 years to improve enough to get the attention of potentially making money as a mangaka. Ononoki does offer the suggestion of not working more because that will fukk Sengoku up. But rather work smarter. As mangaka have a team.

Much like how Ononoki created the slug last episode in the Tsukihi Undo arc. The basic idea was to create 4 different versions of Nadeko Sengoku to bring her back to life.

  • The timid Nadeko Sengoku with bangs.
  • The flirty Nadeko Sengoku that tried to seduce Koyomi Araragi
  • The delinquent Nadeko Sengoku who threw a tantrum at school
  • The God form of Sengoku.
The issue that Ononoki that failed to realize is why would they help the current Nadeko? Unsurprising they freaked out and left. Now it is up to Ononoki and Nadeko to find them. Nadeko does run into Ougi Oshino and will seem to help her with the issue. First is about finding the timid Nadeko Sengoku

One interesting bit that Ononoki mentions that unlike Sengoku, Nadeko isn't considered to be harmless. This is bizarre given that Nadeko had the talisman removed by Kaiki. So it is difficult to imagine how she would be considered a threat by the specialists like Ougi Oshino. It is definitely an interesting point to keep in mind.

As Nadeko and Ougi head to the school they find not Meek Nadeko, but Flirty Nadeko. The reason actually makes sense. Each of these Nadeko's represents the current Nadeko in a different light. Currently, Nadeko does not wish to go to school. The one most likely to go there is Flirty Nadeko because it is her at her most confident and well-behaved. After all, this is her form when she was flirting with Koyomi Araragi. Her God form had no interest in school. Delinquent Nadeko wants no part of school. Meek Nadeko closely resembles her current self.

Flirty Nadeko represents Nadeko who has full confidence in chasing her dream. In many aspects, we see how Nadeko feels comparing herself to this version. Nadeko has confidence issues. She has so much going on in her life. You can empathize her wanting to let Flirty Nadeko be the real her. The one question is: What are Flirty Nadeko's dreams? She does not share the same dreams as she currently does. Pushing through is the right answer and capturing flirty Nadeko by using the techniques given to her by Ononoki.

Now with Flirty Nadeko taken care of, we learn from Kanbaru that Meek Nadeko is running around naked. Obviously, not a good thing. As Nadeko and Ougi go their separate ways, Nadeko meets up with Sodachi Oikura. In many ways, the situation for both these girls is similar. Sofachi had trouble fitting in middle school and in her first year of high school. All stemming from jealously of the life Koyomi Araragi lived compared to hers. Which was filled with being abused by her parents.

Both girls are having issues attending college for similar reasons. Figuring out how to fit in. Nadeko has her new goals and determination, but coming back to school will be a challenge for her. Meanwhile, Sodachi who changed her image to start a new in college, and it didn't work out great for her. Sodachi does admit that Nadeko cutting her bangs and showing off who she is to her is a sign of growth. Her point is valid, the little steps are important. Sure, going back to school could be a goal, but taking big steps might be too much.

As Nadeko explains the situation of her parents, Sodachi tells Nadeko to not take their words completely at face value. While yes the words of you need to work if you don't attend high school is a lot to take in. They really want her to go to high school and using those words is what they think is best to get her to attend high school. This more so leads to the parents being more soft and spoiled. Sodachi knows how it is to live a life with no parents. The abusive father she cut ties with and her mom is long gone. While Nadeko still has to deal with the other Nadeko's. This is something important for her to keep in the back of her mind.

As they depart the question is: Where could Meek Nadeko be going? Before the Nadeko Medusa arc wrapped up, Nadeko would go to Koyomi Araragi when she needed help. While her running around may seem random, it is more than likely she is going to the Araragi home since Koyomi isn't around. Which is where Nadeko heads to at the end of the episode.

4 episodes into Danmachi S2 rewatch. Honestly, the content is better, but man the pacing is garbage. Like stuff with the war game and the Lili's history with the Souma family is interesting. But they just fly through it so fast. Like the war game itself is finished with 1 episode is so jarring.

Tbh given the OP they kind of through the War Game Arc out without much thought to it. But even adding that point, not showing much of Bell's training with Aiz and Tiona is pretty dumb imo.
