Definitely a great episode and I love the tension and competitive cutthroat nature of greatness, it's reflective of the time period. There's only so many seats at the table and if you're getting ready to take one, you're going to break the legs of as many of the others as you can before you take a seat. Being great is just a step for these 3 because they want to be above even that while their contemporaries and lifelong soldiers just want to stay alive or have a moment. Ben's strategy really was. Being able to infiltrate the castle and got the enemy thinking they going after the commander. But na they just opening the gates was big brain shyt. Meng's adaptability to see that to get his squad to utilize the opening was real good shyt. Showing Xin he still got ways to go.
Lowkey Ben sounding like a bytch here.. Why he is so mad that Meng maximized on the opening his squad provided. Thats more props for Meng to be able to realize what he was doing. They literally on the same side

Man this shyt was powerful. Xin as we have seen from the start has morals that he lives by. And this scene was great at showing the tension between his goals and those morales.
And this was a pretty shocking surprise where on one hand Xin had his emotions got the best of him. Which he has shown to be in more in control of as of late. It does a great job showcasing that Xin wants to be the worlds greatest general the right way. Tho he is lucky Meng took a liking to him.
Ben and pretty boy are light years ahead of Xin, so it's great he's got ol girl as his strategist because just being instinctual isn't going to cut it on that level.
As far as being a General, the realities of war and the deep deep hatred to these kingdoms have for each other, he's got a hell of an issue because he can't fight that. He can't police everyone and he'd lose support for trying at this point. He's got to find a way to climb the ladder and change it all at once. He better hope Zheng can help mold things.
