This is the 2nd time it happened for me. If you’re on 50 post per page that might be the reason, when I changed it to 35 it loaded

I think of MT like the book the Hobbit. The Hobbit pretty much set damn near every fantasy trope for like a century. MT's conventions are visible in a ton of Isekai after it the same way.


...and honestly, I think Konosuba's my favorite take on those conventions

Well the thing is Konosuba like Emmience is a parody on the Iseaki genre. I think with tone that these two have it works perfectly.

The problem with a lot of other iseakis when you do a tone shift like MT does it can throw people off. In a context the 6 things that person mentioned with MT was the biggest influence from by themselves none of them are bad. But the writing of them in majority of iseaki are atrocious.
