OK now look at how muscular and well proportioned most gymnast are. Are you telling me you don’t believe the muscular proportion and even strength cannot be developed by calisthenics?

Those dude aren't really jacked IMO, they're all moderately muscular athletes with very low body fat.

Compare an Oly gymnast to an NFL RB of the same height. The gymnast in his man leotard looks more ripped but is smaller than the NFLer. Low body fat makes you look bigger in pics/video than you actually are IRL, it's an optical illusion. That same gymnast will prolly look like a DYEL redditor in normal street clothes.

you don't know what you're talking about, NFL running backs come in all shapes and sizes, if you never did any of these exercises don't talk about them

lifting weights is only part of what professional athletes do lmao, nobody who only lifts weight is athlete, just look at tyrek hill's work out, you have to actually do athletic exercises to be athletic and have explosion

You can be swole and be good at calisthenics. What’s the point of saying you gain “strength” through calisthenics/pull-ups, when the moment you gain more pounds via muscle gains, you can no longer do as many reps of pull ups you once could? Pull ups are supposed to give you strength no matter how many lbs you gain. The truly strong, are those who can do plenty of pull ups and body weight movements despite being on the muscular/bigger side. Anyone can do pull ups if you’re underweight.

:skip:
I’m 5’9 and was about 188lb at the height of lockdown. Lost a lot of muscle mass and replaced it with fat.
Managed to get myself to 23 nonstop pull-ups with top form. My arms, back and chest still looked pretty good but I clearly lost a little too body mass (think my biceps looked better tho.. could just be the extra bloat).

Point is my gym strength made pull ups fairly easy (although I could do 16 pull ups at the start which is more than most).

people are conflating outcomes with process. for pure strength you need mass. So you’ll eat. When strength is the aim you need the most resistance that comes from lifting weights. So linebackers, powerlifters have some gut. Most heavyweight boxers aren’t absolutely shredded (with some obvious exceptions).

gymnasts need to be lighter to do their routines and lift themselves about. So they are shredded. Obviously all that upper body strength work will build muscle but they’re lean. They also don’t have much in the way of legs (the most muscular on the horse or rings). It’s not needed.

For most people that work out for aesthetics and health. Yeah incorporate some callisthenics in your routine. Make sure you can do single leg squats ass touching the ground. Make sure you can do at least 13 pull-ups with great form. Do some impressive core work like flags or window wipers. Get your cardio in, run, swim, cycle etc. And obviously watch what you eat and learn about nutrition.

Lack all comprehension and basic reasoning skills, coli brehs.
:mjlol:

I didn't say NFL athletes only lifted weights, and that comment didn't have shyt to do with explosion or being athletic, it was about being aesthetic.
:mjlol:

I also said take a RB and a gymnast that are the same height so you can save that "all shapes and sizes" babble.
:camby:

And thank you posting up a video with a small-ass calisthenics breh in it as proof.

lmao, since when were NFL RBS were known for aesthetics, you don't know what you are taking about

Darren Sproles is a small, Barry Sanders was small, Warren Dunn is small

Ray Rice is a midget like tank davis dog, what are smoking

Gymnast are short because low center gravity gives you better balance, so short people will do better in that sport, same reason why you don't see 6'9 Running backs you dumb ass nikka

The only big skilled possessions are Receivers and Tight Ends, Terrell Owens has a gymnast build, damn every QB in the league is the bigger than the Running back lmao, you a fukking moron

being bigger has nothing to do with lifting weights, if you wanna get bulk all have to do is eat more

you don't even work out, you talking crazy, you can't even do the exercises that guy in the video do, and he just converted over from lifting weights dumb ass, and he couldn't even do the ring exercises at first because he lacked the STRENGTH

Bruh I've been doing 400 to 500 push ups per day since quarantine.

Strict form and all and my shoulders have broadened out like crazy

I feel much bigger than the average mane and I weight 187 lbs

shyt feels crazy

Me too. With poor form i was doing up to 1000 a day. With proper form, I can bang out 500.

These brehs are not using proper form form.

I"m actually bigger than i was when i was going to the gym and I was lifting heavy weights for my size.
