Let’s be clear. Nintendo dominated with exclusive 3rd party support. You were not playing Mega Man, Contra, Castlevania, Final Fantasy, etc anywhere else. Things loosened up a bit with the SNES/Genesis era, but for the most part Nintendo had a lock.
