I live around black professionals and see educated brothas and sistas all the time, but their talents aren't going into industries rooted in the black community they're goin into shyt outside of the community. That's why it's depressing to see what's become of HBCUs, they still serve a purpose but people want to run away to live in another man's house instead of building his own institutions. :smh:

Exactly.

@Napoleon you need to read that for your own good

You don't know any black professionals then.

They're creating THEIR OWN networks.

I've got friends who are lawyers, who refer their clients to other friends who are doctors who refer them to other friends who are dentists who refer them to other friends who are business leaders in the community.

There ARE communities. Theres just a high standard for entry. No bullshyt or hood antics allowed.

We need to abandon the notion that more African American studies professors does anything.

More black students need to focus on areas that matter with their education. Leave that liberal arts shyt alone and pick up some tangible, defined, and applicable skills.

for jay-z to make more money he has to appear as european as possible.. thats with anyone really..

could've at least made a song in honor of ozwald boateng...

or kanye west :stopitslime:
I actually support this.

Boateng is one of the only tailors on Saville Row that faced legit racism coming up and could use such a cosign from an artist like Jay Z.

It became even more apparent when Tom Ford said he ain't even kno Jay like that.

black people need to officially boycott the professional sports slave industry. that means not just ending our viewing of these sporting events. it means black men need to stop playing them. let whites have basketball. football. see how well that works out for them.
the fukk? Those sports have given us more wealth than at any other time in our existence...its how we decide to use that money the problem

That's cool and all, but a lot more needs to be done. There needs to be more small businesses and trade programs for example to keep ex-cons from re-offending. I've been on the job hunt with them personally and watched how difficult it is for them. The brothas that own businesses that'll give em a chance are few and far inbetween. If there aren't enough job opportunities for youth in the slum then they'll obviously turn to crime who is anyone to tell them they should simply starve because they were born in the wrong circumstances.

I'm not disregarding the things being done on the middle and upper levels. But its the poor that need the help, and its ignorant elitist behavior to think of them as some lost cause not worth helping. I find that lost negroes with money are much worse long term than the ones without it because they have the means to change shyt but they're simply perpetuating the cycle just like the criminal in the street.

you are embarrassing yourself
Hold your community to a higher standard then.

All I see around me is upwardly mobile people getting money, creating their own networks, and making shyt happen.

All you're doing is wondering why nikkas don't give back to the hood as much as you like.

Whites don't give back to their hood. They keep it pushing. Thats what you all overlook with all this talk about "racism"

You can't bring everyone with you.

I ain't working this hard just to be around the same team.

I support initiatives to get more blacks into environments that prep them for success, but to what end?

Its not elitist to think of them as a lost cause....but there are lot of lost causes. Lets be real.

Our standards are WAY too low
