PJ's to the Burbs
easily the Goat era
The Sopranos and the Wire are the only jewels this era is missing from its crown.

Actually I think its the reverse Sopranos and the Wire ushered in this new era.

I used to be sports the simpsonsand that's about it I couldn't stand tv and for the most part I still do. But from them 2 shows it just started an avalanche. I was the cat that turned off my cable when the wire finished, I was good. Then came lost, west wing, shield, Sons, 24 and as time goes on I just finding mysef a new show now my dvr stay on full
Mad Men
Game of Thrones
The Americans
Shameless
Boardwalk Empire
True Detective
House of Cards
House of Lies
Getting On
Archer
Orange is the New Black
Ray Donovan
Homeland

Be keeping a bro full, and it just keeps getting better and better

Breh were grown men now. Who cares about sitcoms and cartoons?
You can go down that route if u like but it doesnt anchor your point.I dont have to be a reality tv afficiondo to know keeping up with the kardasians = trash and dragons den = quality its just common sense. Yeah we are grown but does one need to be a kid to see that cartoons today are toned down in violence and dumbed down in story? what exactly is on tv now thats in anyway similar to xmen TAS or Batman TAS e.t.c the closet things were young justice/avengers EMH and they got canned abruptly after 2 seasons

And as for sitcoms to me the format seems dated, save that setting for soaps, modern day sitcoms should be stuff like curb or 30 rock :ld:

Cartoons don't have the same relevance because kids have easy access to so many other options. And again, were adults now. I grew up on cartoons too but I don't give a fukk about them anymore, and I wouldn't judge the state of TV based on them

but what does it say about cartoons today that kids aint even touching them, we had videogames when we were snot nose scallywags too. That inner rage that would get a release whilst seeing explosions and battles between good/evil are being sought elsewhere cuz toons dont provide it and why is that? cuz they sissified the genre

It's great watching them on my ipad. Once an episode is over I just click on the next one. No need to get up and change discs if it was DVD. In fact wouldn't surprise if that was one of the main reasons why it's so popular.

Complaining about sitcoms is so off base

I was going to make a thread(still might) on how the 90s zealots hold up sitcoms to show why the 9"a was the superior decade is just :laff:

Sitcoms were basically putting different characters in the same situations on ever sitcom.

The format had no diversity. Whatsoever

So you're saying kids aren't getting enough violence in the media?

I kind of understand what you're saying and all but sitcoms have been a big part of people's childhoods. It would be nice if kids of this generation had the same thing but instead they get forgettable and lame stuff like "Sam and Cat" and "Dog with a blog"

Aren't kids watching all of those Disney sitcoms?

The Game is getting huge ratings.

Sitcoms were apart of childhood it doesn't mean it has to be part of anyone else's

Top 4
24 is back to reclaim the throne

And eh 90s sitcoms were so much better to me, same with cartoons.

Its just that you can get away with so much more on tv now than in the past.

I most certainly would....and as a grown man, I still check for certain animated flicks......No question.......Besides, most of the hot series are subscription based and should not count as television.........

If you gotta pay for it, of course it should be a notch better than free\regular television.....But in a lot of cases, its not....
