Godfather trilogy is up there, even tho the third was sub-par..first 2 make up for it imo, theyre that damn good, however Nolan just did something pretty rare for comic book trilogies though, we havent seen this consistency...dude hasnt dropped an average film in a decade, he's incredible, whatever he directs/produce from now on will get a guaranteed watch from me at a theater, everything he puts out turns to gold...movies usually dont move me or even challenge me, but entire Batman trilogy had me emotionally invested, Batman Begins is such a beautiful film from an emotional standpoint, you legit wanna cry when young Bruce's parent get killed....fast-forward 7 years, I didnt think there would be anyway Nolan could top that emotionally, but he did...I genuinely felt for Bruce, when he was getting handled by Bane...what REALLY got me was just seeing the strength of care and love Alfred had for Bruce, he came across as a strong father figure that really wanted the best for him, he even had his own vision for him, that shyt was touching...Avengers werent able to capture that emotional depth, and thats something that makes or break movies for me...its funny how I left this DKR and Inception feeling the same way

My ego is huge because I expect you to stick to things that I've said while listing evidence that I'm in "the Cult of Nolan"? :shaq2:

Your logic is pretty faulty.

:beli:

I said Y'all meaning not only you. I was just using your quote as an example. You felt that batman saving a city was bigger deal than the avengers saving the earth. That is your opinion. How can i challenge that?

I don't know about best trilogy but I will say this: I think Dark Knight Rises is perhaps the best 3rd film of a trilogy that I've ever seen. Normally by the 3rd, you're just happy if it wraps things up decently and doesn't ruin the whole series. 3rd Godfather was trash. 3rd Matrix was painful. 3rd Back to the Future was a joke.

Nolan's Batman just might be the first trilogy I've seen where each film is arguably greater than the last :dwillhuh:

Michael Caine needs to retire on top, cause he'll always be Alfred from this point on...he bodied that role, dude's tears made me cringe a little

unfair to compare a movie with multiple super hero's from previous movies compared to a movie with 1 hero the past 2 movies.

Let's compare this to JLA in 2016

Avengers. Easy.

Wanna know why TDKR isnt better than The Avengers?

Because it lacked conviction

That's the only other one I can come up with.

Spiderman and X-Men both followed up a good start with a great sequel, only to follow that up with a sloppy mess of a third film :smh:

Real talk, TDKR could have been like and 1 and 20 mins...

To be fair the movie is kind of drab, and not 'dark' or what Nolan was going for. I initially didnt like BB until I had saw it 7 times and realized Bale as BW had to be a pretentious a$$hole. Then TDK, left you with some much to think about and talk about. In TDKR Christian Bale comes off as Christian Bale just reading lines as BW, then donning the mask for a little bit. I didnt see BW in the movie at all. Bane was dope, cant front that.

They didnt touch on the dynamics of Alfred and BW's relationship at all. Like 4 times did Alfred and BW talk and Alfred left in tears then
he tells him that his old bytch left him for harvey and CB (I almost refuse to call him Bruce Wayne) is just like "Nu uhh! then walks away all teary and never addresses it again

Lucius is kind of a c00n. Like no coli\sohh...but for real...everytime he saw a white woman I felt like he was gonna softshoe or something...idk

They brought back
Cilian Murphy
but he didnt redeem his part, he was just there. Like he might as well have been reformed.

Really what was the point of the guy that intially filled in for commissioner gordon before blake took over?...He could be removed from the entire movie.

TDK>>BB>>TDKR. shyt the prestige is better than TDKR. But TDKR is still a good movie, you'll get your moneys worth. Nothin to write home about, and wouldnt see it more than once in theaters.

They both have the theme of hope and belief when situation seem dire. TDKR was more realistic in that we can imagine threat of a nuke more than we can of aliens falling from the sky.

The thing is while every one had their hands in the pockets, waiting for batman.. The Avengers had to learn to believe in hope, and believe in each other to work together. But thats just Marvel movies...they all have those scenes where everyone seems to come together, and stand up for themselves and others. In Spiderman, Xmen, etc. It just leaves you with a warm feeling, faith in others. Which is contrary to the batman series where his Maggie Gyllenhall tells BW to "never lose faith in people". Idk, I always feel like if I am a person in Gotham, Im as good as dead because they dont even try to help themselves. They just wait for batman.
