I think it was a good stoppage. Only a matter of time at that point.

No shame losing to a fighter like Ruiz though. It's heavyweight boxing. The results are never as predictable as the lower weights. Dude was done and everybody would have been killing the ref if he let Anthony take a few more brutal wide-looping punches.

Plus folks sleeping on Ruiz's agility, there are some videos of dude running drills and looked very fluid. End of the day dude was a very live underdog.

That being said:

Just a reminder.

African American(DOS) champions

Deontay Wilder, Anthony Dirrell, Demetrius Andrade, Julian Williams, Tony Harrison, Errol Spence, Terence Crawford, Keith Thurman, Shawn Porter, Regis Prograis, Maurice Hooker, Gervonta Davis, Tevin Farmer, Jamel Herring, Gary Russell Jr

TOTAL = 15

Mexican(including ppl from Mexico and Chicanos) champions

Andy Ruiz, Canelo Alvarez, Jaime Munguia, Jose Ramirez, Miguel Berchelt, Leo Santa Cruz, Oscar Valdez, Daniel Roman, Emmanuel Navarratte, Rey Vargas, Juan Estrada

TOTAL = 11

Combined they are 45% of all boxing champions (26/57)
Mexicans and Black Americans have the most champions - Boxing Forum

Breh how does one sport have 57 individual champs at the same time. :dead:

Being in shape ain’t always about what you look like physically. At least not in boxing.

Ruiz was in damn-good boxing shape last night. Dude got rocked, got up and kept letting his hands go until he found Joshua’s temple.

The fact he was fighting at the same pace for seven rounds tells me all I need to know about the shape he was in.

That's true some people are just at a predisposition to have weight on them athlete or not....Ruiz going away from the weight/size he's comfortable at would probably throw off his physical and mental equilibrium...Plus you should never underestimate the power of skill and sheer will/heart when it comes to boxing....

Cuz he know he got the negotiating power now. shyt, if Ruiz beats Joshua's ass again, Wilder could probably sell another fight for May 5 2020 against him instead for unification on PPV :mjlol:
