TCU didn't even make a bowl game. We should not be losing recruits to that school. Herman really thought he could not have a coaching staff in place by early signing day and it not affect the recruiting class. This dude arrogance and lack of awareness is beyond comprehension. QJ is horn with an OC and WR coach already hired smh.
Yeah I this point I see some fans starting to get on CDC for this. I think a lot of people were expecting CDC to aggressively reign Herman in after the season. They are letting this think just flounder in the wind and expecting kids to remain loyal because we're Texas. As if any 17-18 yr old kid in this state gives a shyt about that anymore.

Don't blame him. No OC wants to come when this could be Herman's last year if they disappoint again.
I don't blame any top recruit who doesn't want to come here because we simply do not develop talent for the NFL. If I had a son who was a top recruit I wouldn't send him to Texas.

Gary Patterson has more of a track record than Tom Herman at this point

If either of Vince Young’s first choices (LSU or Miami) offered him as a quarterback you could say Gary Patterson has a better track record than any Texas coach since integration. Tim Brewster even had to beg Mack to offer VY as a quarterback. Texas is low key a coaching graveyard but that one player that gave them lightning in a bottle prevents them from seeing it.

From what I've heard Mack didn't want him but Brewster continued to recruit VY behind his back.

The quality of the football team is roughly aligning with the quality of my classes here.

Not a lot being offered, and a whole lot of arrogance to come with it.

breh I followed his recruitment :flabbynsick: and to y’alls credit y’all put on one of the greatest official visits of all time. Maybe there’s footage still around somewhere but I knew he was signing with Texas when I saw that video of him getting a standing ovation at a basketball game with the crowd chanting his name. It was like some movie shyt :wow:

I missed that Chris Ash was made official as the DC. That could have been announced 2 weeks ago which would have helped getting Collins in the fold. Now we have to hope he holds off until NSD2.

I'm pretty sure Ryan Perrolloux was after VY.

EDIT:

I just checked. Ryan Perrilloux was part of the 2005 recruiting cycle. I thought he was part of the 2006 or 2007 cycle.

Ryan Perriloux... man that brings back memories. That was the goat recruiting cycle to follow and now that there are two signing days I don’t ever see it being topped.

The whole Perrilloux, Rouse, Bennett 3 amigos deal. Perrilloux lying to Greg Davis and Mack for months while everyone else knew differently. Rouse getting caught smoking weed at the army bowl. Bennett flip flopping with his father moments before announcing his decision. LSU trying to flip Colt McCoy last minute. Good stuff.

In the 2000's I followed recruiting through Rivals/OrangeBloods & Dallas Morning news.
