Why do you feel it's ok for society to allow easy access to material that can cause unfathomable long term damage to a child's psyche. All of which can and should be done by the parent. It’s a fools errand to even try and sterilize a child’s curiosity this much anyway. If a kid wants to see people fukkin, they will find a way. Either raise your child like a puritan or Amish, or come to terms with the fact that you’ll be fighting a long war of attrition trying to keep your kid away from sex. by requiring photo ID for access to porn sites, the government is essentially saying that it is okay to monitor and regulate certain types of content in order to protect minors. this creates a slippery slope because it opens the door for the government to potentially monitor and regulate other types of content, such as political content or social media, in order to protect minors or other groups.

people in china can't signup to social media sites without a phone number and all sim cards require photo identification to be able to purchase service.
