So long as there’s a way to protect identities I have no problem with this. and I bet the industry will start scrambling to find a way to do it too.

:mjlol:

it never occurred to you how no one in the tech industry has lined up to say they have the solution to ban porn? it's because anyone with any know how knows it's literally not possible due to the architecture of the internet. when it comes down to it, it's just bits and bits can be transmitted any which way. we've heard countless ignorant legislators say, well if we just told them to do it, they'd figure it out. do some research into countries that have banned porn and see if the ban was actually effective or not. the same apparatus they use to ban porn is the same one they use to ban other content, usually political content that opposes the ruling class.

So what I'm hearing is......

It's OK to expose kids to violence but not sex? Why not have age verification on YT and all the streaming apps?

We do everything possible to make it easy to get guns and put up zero roadblocks to anything involving fighting, guns, violence etc.

Sex makes us uncomfortable.

We still have that Puritan mentality.

It's a cat and mouse game that doesn't and possibly won't have an ending. The government is using minors in this case to push this bipartisan law, when in reality, it has less to due with minors and more about control. Is porn too accessible, yes, but there's ways to block these site as oppose of what the government is pushing for.

This.
But people are incapable of thinking critically about this.
A bunch of former porn addicts on this site see this and are like "yeah we need to ban that shyt from minors this is good" rather no one is arguing against restricting access to minors we are against the method to do it

But the problem is the porn industry didn't get ahead of the problem. They saw it as an opportunity to grow future addicts like the tobacco companies did. The porn industry could have self policed, but they didn't want to. Now government is getting involved. it's a problem that they created. No one to blame but themselves.
