I need ur help n expertise.

In game dev or 3d arts generally.. Wat r d system requirements suitable for such tasks.. N can u suggest any particular laptop or brand.


Cuz once I get a new PC, I really want to dive into game development... Its unfamiliar territory for php dev like me..but I will learn it,even if it takes me years I will.already cooking up ideas n story lines for games I plan to make once I get down n dirty.

Hmmm... let me think about it. We are in a major hardware transition period right now so it'll take me a min to look at things.
I will say this though, since the gaming systems(ps4, xbox one, wii u) have transitioned to new hardware any engines / pc games made will be pretty much in lock step with those systems for a while. So whatever hardware you get for game dev will probably last you awhile during this hardware cycle.

What I did was pick out a hardware setup that was inexpensive to set up and get me running dev wise; but also allowed me ample room to upgrade my pc(ram/video card) as required.

Also, do you really want a laptop or is that just an option? Cause I would suggest letting the laptop hardware catch up to this hardware cycle of games before investing in one. An inexpensive upgrade ready desktop would be my knee jerk option till things settle down a bit. For instance my little HP AMD combo can run unreal engine 3 fine but the UDK ver. is a bit chunkier because it has a couple more feature running on it.

But hey that's your call, especially if your going to use it for web based design instead of Unreal 4 or Crytec level engines.
(not that you can't find a laptop that'll run those engines)

Now that I think about it "I want to develop Games" is kinda vague, what type of games are you looking to work on? Do you want to have the capacity to work in any environment 2D & 3D? Small browser or cell phone games ...what?

at the main moment... none,but my elder brother has promised me a suitable machine by the time am entering school, which is by march... so by next month is should be expecting something.

but I still needed sum particular model types and,or price quotes for them..
Gotcha, and before I say anything else your preference is for a laptop? ...or just anything suitable?

Note: This is the top of the Writing team pipeline. In this first part the writer took the premise and started to rewrite it to a specific story. I assume the blue highlighted part at the bottom is undecided work in progress material. **How can he rewrite the premise if that was already done before?** The programming team and art team simply needs to know what elements are in the game and how they interact with each other. What those elements will be named, who will interact with them, and when doesn't really matter as much to other teams.

Example:
It doesn't matter if the writer calls something a "throwing stick" or "boomerang" if the programmer already know how it will be used.

The only hiccup that may come is if the writer starts introducing new elements that weren't agreed on before entering the writing team pipeline. A team should only perform operations on what is feed to it, they shouldn't generate new elements within the pipeline. If they want to add something, that should be done at the end of one iteration and before the start of the next.

Premise
The game takes place on two different moons Osiris, Isis; and Nun, the waterlogged planet they orbit. Both moons are where the four corporations Izanagi, Scorpio Mining, Axon Research and Serekh have set up their base of command. The planets are policed by the New Earth Government (NEG). Few settlers come to these planets to work for the corporations, but instead most of the workers are indigenous inhabitants. On the planet Isis three corporations (Izanagi, Scorpio, Axon) operate resinium mining and advanced technology operations. Liandri also host the Liandri grand tournament. On the planet Osiris only one corporation (Serekh) operates. It is strictly involved in advanced technology the primary of which being nanoblack and “Project Anubis”.

The production of nanoblack requires the use of resinium, but Osiris does not have an abundant supply of it. Isis on the other hand has a rich supply of the material. Therefore Serekh must rely on trade with the corporations of Isis (mainly Scorpio mining) to meet its supply demands for resinium. Serekh’s board resents this fact very much and has been searching for a way to bypass the need to trade for resinium.

The planet Nun is covered in water and therefore is basically uninhabitable. In the known history of Osiris and Isis, the two moons have never truly aligned. Now a time has come where the two moons have aligned, and the combined gravitational force of the two moons has caused a tidal effect on Nun. This has caused massive bodies of water to recede revealing tracks of land. Seeing this as a way to bypass their need for resinium trade with Scorpio, Serekh sends workers and troops down to Nun to harvest as much resinium as they can before the planets are no longer aligned and the water covers the land once more. As Scorpio learns of Serekh’s plans, it sends its own troops to the planet to stop Serekh’s mining in the interest of its own business ventures. Due to a business deal with Scorpio which requires armed support in return for resinium supplies, Axon and Izanagi both send their troops in support of Scorpio.

Nun has now become a landscape of small skirmishes between the two factions vying for control of the resinium supply.

The rampant purification of the populace and landscape on Osiris has spawned an overwhelming block of influence wielded by “The Blessed”. This influence along with the firm belief that competition from other corporations is the cause of the current stalled state of the necris project has allowed them free reign to act militarily on behalf of Serekh in the past. After Serekh finished production of nanoblack fueled vehicles a group of necris armed with the newly developed military vehicles enlist the assistance of the krall alien race to escalate their aggression against Serekh corps competitors on Taryd. Izanagi which is responsible for advancements in teleporter/respawner technology, Axon Research which is the premier producer of military grade vehicles and armor which is Serekhs newest field, and Liandri mining which skirts the safety issue all together by producing autonomous mining and security robots.

Conquest plot line


Prequel: Growing Tensions in Trade
1. Scorpio increases the price for resinium.
2. Phayder suggests deal involving trade of nanoblack to help decrease the price of resinium.
  • Scorpio rejects deal. Claims nanoblack will lead to an unwanted wave of fanatical religious zeal. Truly knows loyalty will be given to Phayder.

3. Phayder’s board discusses alternatives for supplying themselves with resinium.
  • Considers military action.

4. Phayder begins to build up a small force with intentions of invading Isis and toppling Scorpio.
a. Tutorial – Player is placed in the position of an officer in training for Phayder’s army.​

5. Corporations of Isis catch wind of Phayder’s plan and begin building a force of their own.
a. Tutorial – Player is placed in the position of an officer in training for one of Isis’s factions.​

Act I: Nun Awakens, Change of Plans

3. Phayder sees this as an opportunity to bypass trade with Scorpio by building up its own supply. Sends its force of troops to Nun to begin mining resinium.

Osita_inklord: This is pretty neat. I've always been fascinated by programming and have taken it up in bits. (read a little pyhton) but I want to have an input from n this. I'm into 2d and 3d animation.
I'm an artist and in wouldn't mind developing character sheets or animating walk cycles. I have a small demo of my works on my instagram acct. (ff if you want to @meek_dope) let's do this.
Hey I got a chance to check out your work and it all looks good! I'm curious to know if you have ever done any work in an original art style of your own creation? Most of the work I saw seemed comic influenced.(not that a comic aesthetic is a bad thing) Personally I've been on a kick viewing novel aesthetics that are away from things like anime, comic, etc. As stated above I'm loving "Ernie Barnes" work right now.

At this point I had just seen the plot line write up that is written in the above post. Watch Us Make A Game Using "Unreal Engine 3" (ps3/pc)
I give a review of the current state of the "experience timeline" phase of the Story Team pipeline. Discussing the way gametypes(experiences: sneaking, shooting, scout, demolition,etc) are integrated into that plot line. That said I want to switch from "gametypes" to "objectives" and just let people choose the way they will achieve those objectives. As a result we don't have to dictate the tone of the game from minute to minute. The tone is dictated by the mood and actions of the player at any given time.

I didn't like how the story was playing out. It's suppose to be about different factions vying for control but it's playing out as one side(planet) against another(planet). I also felt act 4 was a great place for gameplay even though matt said there was no gameplay in that act. Act 4 is listed as......
Act IV: Unaligned, A New Battlefield

I feel like the process of taking "total military control" is prime pickings for gameplay.
