It had too much going on (Riddler, Falcone, Penguin, Catwoman), basically said fukk Bruce as a subtext, changed Riddler's final plan without clear logic, shoehorned Joker in there.
I loved Paul Dano as Riddler and everyone else cast, except coincidentally Robert Pattinson. And I think Pattinson is a talented actor, but there was no duality in the alter egos. I could've guessed he was Batman by just being in the same room as him.
There was just too much in an introductory movie. It felt like 3 different films.
I did however love the tone. This made up for the glaring narrative choices. The dark detective noire with gangster undertones and some occasional brutal fist fights is quintessential Batman to me. Like gangsters, not supervillains is an interesting take. It won't make bank, because people want to watch shyt blow up, but it is a way to differentiate from other Batman films.
7/10.
Honestly would've been more excited for a Ben Affleck Batman movie.
