I loved it. Even the parts I thought would've been weak ended up being alright. And I mean the Zoe Kravitz parts.

That part when they made it seem like Riddler knew Batman's identity :ohlawd:

Ending wasn't better than any of the Nolan endings, but the action overall was tight.

  • Best Gotham in any live action Batman movie
  • Pattinson was actually a great Batman
  • Zoe looked good and less musty
  • Really wasn’t feeling Pattinson’s Bruce Wayne tho. Completely off to me
  • I wasn’t feeling Batman getting bodied by Reddit CACs
  • Movie was long AF and not in a good way
  • 6/7 out of 10

It had too much going on (Riddler, Falcone, Penguin, Catwoman), basically said fukk Bruce as a subtext, changed Riddler's final plan without clear logic, shoehorned Joker in there.

I loved Paul Dano as Riddler and everyone else cast, except coincidentally Robert Pattinson. And I think Pattinson is a talented actor, but there was no duality in the alter egos. I could've guessed he was Batman by just being in the same room as him.

There was just too much in an introductory movie. It felt like 3 different films.

I did however love the tone. This made up for the glaring narrative choices. The dark detective noire with gangster undertones and some occasional brutal fist fights is quintessential Batman to me. Like gangsters, not supervillains is an interesting take. It won't make bank, because people want to watch shyt blow up, but it is a way to differentiate from other Batman films.

7/10.

Honestly would've been more excited for a Ben Affleck Batman movie.

One of my favorites for sure. I really liked how Batman was legit crazy and kinda didn't care if he died. He was just consumed with punishing criminals until he had that realization at the end.
Loved how he was the beacon for the extremist. Riddler legit though they was working together.

I liked it.

It was gritty and more serious than Batman movies have usually been.

I don’t think this movie and its sequels will have the mainstream blockbuster appeal that the Marvel movies have had in the last 15 years. And that’s okay.

I think there’s more depth here.

From a commercial perspective it’s going to be hard to match the Nolan movies. But to me that shouldn’t be the goal.
Really? ive been hesitant to start it cause i worry it wont live up to the trilogy we had a decade ago.

Also, i was a bit worried they would just change the batman actor on us after flash did his time travel wizardry. :pachaha:
