I haven't read the whole thread yet but I will drop my 2 cents.

When I was a kid (about 8 or so) I would go to the arcade early in the day cause past a certain time it was where all the thugs would hang out.

I never witnessed an actual fight cause like I said, I went earlier in the day. They did happen but I never witnessed it.

But I have seen people get real pissed off at each other there back in the day. Also I used to see this kid, he was great at SF 2. I think he used to play with Vega (not sure about that since in the early SF games he was a boss, u couldn't play as him) but he would kill it.

My favorite arcade game back then was "Cadillacs And Dinosaurs" I was still pissed back then that it never got released for Genesis.

I can feel ya'll on the MK's and street fighter 2 games...But the one game that used to get mad play from many heads at the mall was Super Street Fighter EX Plus...Those combos had nikkas like  ....And if you got off the super comobo that drained all your opponents life and had the video game lighting up like fourth of july then you were :king:

I still play this shyt on xbox sometimes just to hear the sounds of the game :ahh:

takes me back :to:

I never played it much, but I remember all the shyt it used to say. "wizard is about to die" and all that. all the sounds were a big part of being the arcade. shyt was like immediate sensory overload when you walked in

never had any beef with other people at the arcade when i use to go. the only one bad experience i had was with the guy changing the dollars into coins behind the counter. i use to go to this arcade in chinatown when i lived in nyc and the guy running it (or the employee) use to sit behind this bulletproof glass and you could barely recognize the guy because the glass was so scratched up. anyways, i had to be like seven or eight years old and i gave him a ten dollar bill and asked him for two dollars worth of quarters. instead, this dude (he had to be about 60 years old) kept on asking me "how much?" and i would say two dollars. so, instead of giving me two dollars in quarters and the rest of the change, the dude gave me two dollars worth of quarters and walked back into the employee's only room and never came out.

dude jacked me for eight dollars...:sadcam:

I'm lovin' this thread because It takes me back like crazy! All my Detroit heads gotta know about Wizards, and Michigan Fun Center from back in the day, which were both on 8 Mile. Then you also had the kid spots like Showbiz Pizza, Chuck E. Cheese's, Caesarland, and Major Magic's. Only one I still know of is The Butterfly on Van Dyke.

I miss my experiences in those joints.

I was like 6 years old so I wasn't all competetive but I remember my brother was a beast on MK and he beat this kid twice with fatalities each time and I was saying shyt like "this guy sucks, get outta here". Well he was asshurt I guess but the crazy shyt is he had a muthafukkin tazer and tazed my brother in the chest and me on my hand and ran the fukk outta there. That shyt is :russ: to think back on now but that tazer had me crying for a solid 10 minutes :to:

Dat feelin of walkin into an arcade as a youngin :noah:....Da smell of nachos, pizza, churros, and a tad bit of chlorine for some reason(:wtf:). Add in da neon lights of da machines, sounds of da coins being dished out by da coin dispenser, and then findin a couple left ova tickets from somebody's prior visit when you hit your first machine. You knew it was gon be a good day/nite. :ahh:

Not really. Many parents (including mine) would just drop us off at the arcade while they went shopping or did other things. Give me a 10 and im good for hours. This was when all the games were just a quarter. 50 cent games didnt really faze people too much but i still remember the day VF3 showed up and cost a dollar. N*ggas were looking at that machine like :childplease:. That mufukka stayed empty even though the graphics were nice.

One day when i came in there was this guy who was trying to clown all us youngsters in there on SF2. Whenever a kid 10 and under would step up to the machine he would let someone pick which button he would use and beat them using that. For example someone would yell out Forward Kick and he would beat you only using that attack strength. He tried that shyt with me using Jab and i smoked his ass the first round. He laughed it off then did it again for half the second round then as soon as he pushed a button other than forward kick i said "That doesnt look like forward kick to me", the whole line started laughing at dude and when he loss he left the arcade. I know he was hot!

I almost threw hands with this white kid who kept doing M.Bison's Psycho Crusher all the gotdamned time... and won :birdman:

The worse scenes as a kid was Chuck E. Cheese (Showbiz for OG nikkas) or Little Caesar's Family Fun Pizzeria. You got all these kids there gassed up cuz it's they birthday, walkin around like all the shyt's theirs. My homie and I almost stomped some nikkas out for talking wreckless on Cruisin' USA :hmm:

:smugfavre:

:myman: "Showbiz pizzaaaaa...where a kid can be a kiiiiddd!:

I remember back in the day at The Arcade at Kennywood Park in Pittsburgh. Everyone was on the "X-Men" Arcade Game. We would play it, and watch each other play it, for hours it seems. When the fighting games came in though, people were Soccer Hooligans on that shyt. I remember my boy beat this dude at "Mortal Kombat II" and the dude that lost felt so disrespected afterwards because he was finished with a Babality the security guards had to stop a brawl from breaking out.
