No they wont because film studios aren't interested in producing 100 million dollars movies only for them to tank. If they hire him for the job they will give him everything he needs to succeed. and even if it doesn't sale well. As long as it's reviewed well then he's straight either way it goes.
Bruv they spent $140M on "Gods Of Egypt"

1. Akira wasnt even ALL that if we keeping it 100, that ending and the big headed aliens made no damn sense
2. GITS anime made no sense either, especially the ending once again

we praising all these shyt like they were masterpieces when REAL masterpieces like Princess Mononoke, Ponyo, Sword of the Stranger, Graveyard of the Fireflies keep getting overlooked, REAL Anime with substance, not those hypebeast anime that these new nikkas love to praise to fit in and look ''cool'' like they know shyt...

I don't really know what this is, or care, assume some sort of comic book anime adaptation, but I'd prefer him to do movies from his own creative vision and heart, then go the oh so familiar path of early indie success, and then pandering, contrived, big budget bullshyt. So many go this way.

What is there about Peele and Get Out that says "Akira" ?
If anything this is the perfect project for Snyder or Bay on strictly visual basis and action.

Its official to me though, Time Warner CEO needs to fire WB management. These folks are hyper reactive and have no idea what they are doing.
They're like stop telling on us here goes a blockbuster u can make with a 20 million dollar budget

Ghost in The Shell just flopped.

Anime to live action movies are automatic busts.

Funny enough, they even got Takeshi Kitano in it (GiTS), and the visuals and scenes were ripped (beautifully) from the original film. However, the story fell flat. Also that ending was pure disrespect to the fans. Talk about a slap to the face. To be fair, anytime you see Avi Arad attached to a film (producer) stay away.

The guy who directed snow white and the huntsman directed this...
