Step 1: Brush up on speak n spell.

Second, you are more than welcome these address these items I have pointed up as a summation of my postings in this thread...this is the gist of my opinions/arguments in a nutshell:

- Vince was right to not let the DJ dictate his opinion, that DJ is disgusting.

- Kanye west is not in the GOAT rapper conversation, he is not great at rapping.

- 2pac dropped 7 fukking albums BEFORE he died...how is his catalog too short, it's not too short, it's a means of degrading Pac to champion Kante.

- Only a dikkhead contraian would try to make a LBJ/MJ comparison about geriatric Jordan vs. LeBeta bron on an accelerated steroid program..

- Rappers like Kendrick and J Cole, who are at the forefront of the genre have cited Eminem as an influence (they be lying though)

- Influencing the way people rap >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Fashion trends and blatant biting which USED to be a sin in this game.

Counter those...show me where I'm wrong, and I'm man enough to concede if you make any salient points? If you do respond try not to ridiculise yourself in the process.

Just because no one else is having soulful samples or jazz bands on an album doesn't equal the best production.

Thats where you're wrong lol...they don't get praise because no one else is doing it, but because of how amazing it is. Many all time greats have already commented on how they have some of the best composed music, in any genre. You not understanding what make their music great doesn't make it any less goat.

tbh...I'm a music lecturer and kendrick & kanye are the only rappers who can blow my mind with their music.

the only thing you can hold against them is that they have the absolute best musicians of our era behind them, but they're still the guys with the big picture.

Exactly :salute:

making soul, jazz or funk influenced rap music doesn't make it good, its all about the execution and the actual quality of the music, and they're both excellent in this department. fukk dude, they have artists, critics and musicians analyzing everything about their music, the bebop scales , altered scales, syncopation, polyrhythms, shifting keys...everything about their music is near perfect.

I like Vince's music but he's another one of these smart dumb nikkas.

Kanye is not better than Em as a rapper. We all know Consequence, Cudi and Big Sean wrote his rhymes. For some reason it's okay to discredit Drake and not Kanye as well.

He's trying to elevate rap's status by comparing anyone making music that could touch MJ. No. Kanye and Kendrick are nowhere near that level and their production is highly reliant on what everyone else isn't doing.

Just because no one else is having soulful samples or jazz bands on an album doesn't equal the best production. And their content on those beats matter just as much. Human Nature by MJ is classic for so many reasons. Lyrics is one of them, Kendrick's lyrics and emotional appeal don't even ascend his peers.

FOH

As ICONIC as Pac is...I feel uncomfortable comparing him to people like Prince and MJ...not because he's not worthy but because HIP HOP is not POP and it was never meant to be judged as such.

His music def meant more to me on a personal level than Prince, or even MJ really but they were genius level musicians and entertainers on top of it. Pac was on some other shyt.

Very true, there's a reason if only artists like kanye and kendrick are getting the universal acclaim, they get the acclaim because their music scream "top notch" in every angle.

Jazz rap' as a concept is a dated one, but tpab incorporates its jazzy elements much more naturally than traditional jazz rap albums, feeling like one organic entity as opposed to an old, and it features some of the best jazz elements I have heard in a very long time. Kamasi washington, the guy praised as the best jazz artist of this decade, admitted giving everything to Tpab...

Mbdtf is no different, it's one of the most focused albums I have heard, I literally can't find a single flaw on the album..there's indeed a few tracks that I don't like, but its taste based, the songs I don't like are actually amazing.

Basically all of this...I'd have disagreed a few years ago, but thats only because I wasn't listening to much music.

Yep, Like vince said (and a A LOT OF ARTISTS AGREE WITH THAT)... I don't usually compare rappers across genres but I think it's fair to say what kendrick and kanye have done with rap on their albums, especially TPAB and MBDTF, is Radioheadesque in their boldness, confidence, and beauty. Like Radiohead, Kendrick and kanye definitely take the impressionist approach that Radiohead frequently does where it may take a few listens and a few steps back to get the full picture. It may also require an appreciation for all different black musical genres and a deep musical knowledge to understand how great the music really is. Theyre true musicians with impeccable taste.

:scust: at people caping hard for Eminem in this thread. People are still in denial about how overrated he is.
