Naw, some black men go crazy for light skin women. Girl I am dating is now is very light skin, two black parents but she is very light and she even tells me that she realize men go crazy for light skin women :mjlol:.

I personally don't care for it. Girl before her was West African. I also don't want the label, another black men going after light skin women. The reality is that she has big tiddies and a fat ass and I like it.
I dont think I've ever really been crazy over light skin women.

I usually prefer medium brown or dark skin. :yeshrug:

Half my fam is light skin and a lot of them aint shyt.

So I dont get the societal pedestal. :manny:

Colorism is not a problem. It's a product of insecurity in the black community. You're either ugly or pretty no matter what shade. I've had ugly bytches use the if I was lightskin excuse while my track record is mostly darkskin women.
Two very outspoken women on this site are lightskin and they're not exactly beauty queens, nor do they have dudes lusting over them like that. :yeshrug:

No. Men go crazy for attractive women. I hate it when these shea butter hoes try to minimize human attraction to fukkin skin color. The reason men go crazy for certain women is because of their facial features, body, and overall feminine energy. For example, one of the finest women I've ever seen in my life is Taral Hicks.

She's perfect in every way IMO. And there ain't a man breathing that wouldn't wanna be with her. She is a living breathing example of why colorism is total bullshyt. All these women whining about black men preferring light skin women are just not that attractive to begin with. And they think they can get black men to be attracted to them by shaming them into rejecting attractive light skin women. shyt pisses me off. If these women complaining about colorism looked like Taral Hicks, they would have no problem getting male attention.

If you're an attractive woman you'll have men chasing you. Your skin color has ZERO effect. What has an effect on whether men are attracted to you is your face, body, and femininity. If you're pretty, in shape, and feminine, then men will be fighting each other to get with you. PERIOD.

Some black men are colorist to the core man. They see lighter skin and automatically think they are finer. Women like Ella mai are overhyped because they are light lol. I would date her just as quick as I would date the lighter skin women. In my case, I just don't want people to assume that I am another colorist negro dating a light skin woman.

I gotta serious question. What do people get out of denying colorism and the effects of social conditioning in our community?
:mjtf:Like not even trying to be snarky or anything. Maybe we should take some time to look at the history of it in our community to get some perspective.

It could be that people legitimately don’t know it exists particularly in terms of dating. When I come back to this thread over the next few days I’ll post some historical info on the phenomenon and some interesting info.

All those women are mixed with Indian so hell no. Coli would still be mad.

lol true, every last one of them. can't speak for the coli as a whole but from my experience once that woman is brown on par with a mary j blige (despite the differing phenotype) she's good bread with sistas. horrible & problematic as this is going to sound, they're kind of like honorary light skinned girls. light skin girl props without the light skin girl hate. i can call any of them dimes and no one attacks my blackness and the same with dissing their looks

now as for kicking out the biracials, restructuring the race, and finally establishing a rock solid beauty standard? all for it. but sistas still want to run around talking about how meghan markle's marriage to prince harry was a proud day for black women who look like janet hubert lmao. so hey i'm just working with that and making sure they keep that same energy b

You're right. I've just had some annoying women in my life use that shyt on me cause I'm lightskin. I love black women first but I also find it hypocritical when women do the same thing but worse. It's not a black thing. It's a universal thing in every culture and some people are retarded like that to where they seriously look at the melanin in your skin.

We're not denying it. We know the history. We've just had enough of the "it's because she's light skinned" rhetoric.

Christ shut up man.

Do I think some (emphasis on some) women lean on colorism when they are likely just highly unattractive to most, honestly yes.

But it IS real, and it isn't bullshyt...and I'm one of those darkskin women who generally have no problem attracting men...yet I've experienced on more than one occasion being told I looked good for someone dark or the time most memorable "you're so BLACK...but you're really pretty." :stopitslime:

That's not colorism. That's streotyping.

Once again nobody is turning you down cause of your skin. They just saying stupid shyt.
