? I didn't address that at all...it's not about time period alone, it's about familiarity. The reason "Flow Joe" fell so flat is because nobody knows that shyt, lol. The reason the Big L record fell so flat is because nobody knows that shyt. Etc... When I say "nobody" I mean the masses. Ja kept telling him "Nobody knows this shyt you playing". Lol, facts.

Where Fat Joe fukked up at is he tried to basically redo what the Lox did...the difference is the Lox were a fukking movement for real...just like the Dips. They can get that underground, gritty shyt off and it still resonate because we was really into and following them like that, we know that miscellaneous shyt too. Nobody was following Fat Joe, lol, the masses aint up on his super underground shyt like that outside maybe some ricans.

With Ja, you can check the charts, a lot of that shyt wasn't "hit records"....but we would see and hear it on 106 and Park and shyt like that...it was on the radio...etc... Familiarity. In real time we was calling that shyt ass, lol.

The old nikkas who stay inside and when they do go outside lean on the wall whild giving nikkas having fun dirty looks….will never determine who wins a versuz

this versuz wouldve been better off when it wasn't live a show/concert situation.
I didn't watch it but keep it a buck, everything about this looked embarrassing.

LOX and Dipset felt special even with Dipset being a mess. imagine if they actually turned up??
they could've booked both of those groups just to talk about the Versuz and it would've sold more tickets and had more interest than last night.
I agree with the bold to an extent. They need to not try to shoe horn every matchup into some grand stadium event. I’m fine with the way the Isley’s/EWF, short/e-40, swv/xscape we’re set up - two couches/chairs and a small area where they could perform the music live and share stories in between. Trying to turn this into a battle rap situation is severely limiting

Jadas Checkmate >>>>>>>>> I agree old 50 brought the Heat but D Block killed them.

You aint get shot again yet so what your second album about? You made a lot of money but be cool before I swell up your mouth like Seafood. Out your whole camp the flows the weakest, you had to get shot 9 times to be rich. He bodied 50.

Not to mention one of the most disrespectful diss tracks ever. These Curtis stans claiming he killed Jada and D Block are too much :mjlol:

Ja got Joe up out of here.

There's really people on this board who said Fat Joe would have anything for Busta. :russ::russ::russ:

Fukk. No.

Man couldn't take the weight of club hits for the ladies from a 5/6 year window. Busta has hits dating back to the early 90's. He would have shot Rotund Joseph into the sun. :dead:

Even this song completely obliterated G-Unit

I was a major G-Unit stan back then and D-Block destroyed them. All 50 had was sales talk, and when you talk sales and money in a rap beef, you already lost

For people saying ja’s music aged poorly

well surprise if you didn’t like his music back then you’re probably not gonna like it now

I’m not even a fan of his like that but his mainstream songs aged beautifully imo

that man could write the shyt out of a song

I mean come on what are we doing here jada voice
But I actually liked all those Ja songs back then though.

Just because I liked something in my teens however, doesn't mean I'm going to still like it in my 30s. I'm not a super sucker for nostalgia like that :yeshrug:

You can tell Fat Joe is friends with 99% of the industry with the amount of :cape:they doing for him from the IG comments to these wack radio hosts. We can hear the crowd:mjlol:
In fairness, we let crowd reaction dictate shyt too much, this is my number 1 issue with battle rap too. Too much shyt that has nothing to do with catalog/skill has influence over how a crowd is reacting so that's a terrible way to gauge who won or loss.

I think Ja won just because of how he rocked, his energy and performance was stellar...the crowd was awful in general, I didn't take them into account at all.
