i get it. I have Apple Music and don’t buy albums. When an album I want is released I download it and stream it through Apple music.
I don't consider that as an album sale, tho. Scorpion is still available for purchase and download.

If artist A gets 125 million streams, and 150k albums bought and downloaded, and artist B gets 375 million streams and 95k albums bought and downloaded, that just means that artist b album was listened to 250 million more times for free ,

or actually, for the cost of the monthly subscription

@Fade Runner 2049 good point and the fact is when you have Spotify pulling the shyt they do, it's impossible for scorpion not to be streamed by people who didn't want to hear it. They go play a gospel playlist and a Drake song comes on and that counts as a listen for that track. shyt is crazy

That's just speculation on my part but I think the pure sales will be up when the official numbers are in.

I expect 250k-300k pure sales.

And Drake gonna outsell Damn by damn near 200,000 copies first week which isn't "barely" outselling.

I think this is why the industry is trying to go to full on stream mode... It doesn’t make sense to have close to a million so called sales with streaming and less than 500,000 physical sales. Somebody in the thread said it but those physical sales tell the real story.

They pay the labels billions, sales and revenues are increasing in the record industry due to streaming.

And they are not allowed to cook numbers, it’s investor fraud.

i'm still confused...those streaming numbers add "God's Plan" and "Nice For What" right??? i thought those alone would push it past platinum...

and are the physical sales doubled like they usually do for double albums???
