Is that your issue with it? The trailer looks dope and way more harder edge than anything else Disney Marvel has produced
It's hamfisted. Almost EVERY new character has been female. Their gender is not necessarily the issue-- but let's be real. Stop trying to give us an army of hyper-intelligent world-saving Sarah Connors. In reality, that's not the case. They're just throwing a bunch of teenage girls in the mix and making them the new face of Marvel. Why is it so hard to admit no one really wants to see that? I'll repeat. NO ONE REALLY WANTS TO SEE THAT! Well written strong female characters do best sprinkled in with strong well-written male characters. And there's a ratio that tends to work. And what makes it worse is how ridiculously they dumb down the men to make the women shine. Its like lowering the damn hoop. In the original saga we saw characters like Pepper shine even in scenes with Tony where you knew she could get shyt done. Same with when they debuted Natasha. Same with Maria Hill and the Fury dynamic. Gamora. Nebula... the list goes on.
Sounds like ur issue is with the stories not the characters which is really what’s at the heart of the issue with marvel stuff right now not names guardians of the galaxy, Loki or spider man
:mjtf: The stories are being driven by a corporate agenda to shoehorn specific actors/demographics into the film. Everything else is tertiary.

To the bolded, how do you get that from the trailer.
Echo looks to be (from the trailer) a way better introduction of a female character than any of the ones you mentioned.

Honestly I wish they just ran with a black widow movie. I think a Russian, female "James Bond x John wick" movie set in the marvel universe would a be a lit story. Could be very empowering to women while remaining in the main marvel portfolio of characters.

I don't mind a captain marvel kind of time skip either to dig into hydra.

I'm picturing a Disney branded Nikita or kill bill.

:mjlol: You're just replying to reply at this point. You're not really here for a discussion. It doesn't MATTER if this shyt is actually dope. At this point it's just increased saturation of a concept that has been proven to be unpopular. Hitting the game winning 3 after missing the last 20 doesn't make you Ray Allen. You're a just a nikka who can't shoot threes and probably only hit that shot beacuse no one was bothering to press you. If this hits it'll be a fluke. It's not a sign of the tide turning.

So your problem is just that it is a woman who is the lead, then

:russ: My guy, who cares??? The reality is no one really does. The question should be are they telling a great story. Not how will women that don't even care for action films feel about it. Barbie did egeregious numbers because that's what they want. Did Black Widow break any streaming records? Are girls hankering for the next chapter in Kate Bishop's story? Does any one care Brie Larson is still in the MCU? No.

Like I said. I've been thorough in explaining the issue. You're just replying to reply. I don't like to be petty and put folks on ignore. But I put in my two cents, and I took the time to elaborate. I don't do meaningless back and forth. If you want to challenge or seek clarity reagarding my talking points, cool. But don't troll.

Not trolling. You quoted my post with
:comeon: Another "heroine".

Your response afterwards I fail to see where Echo falls into the category you are upset about based off that trailer.

Nothing in that trailer looks like "girl power" or dumbing men down so that women can shine
