Women don’t like to do shyt if men ain’t involved or around. Let’s talk facts.

Only thing women do by themselves is go shopping, get hair or nails done, read and eat. Only thing they do in groups is get brunch and dinner.
Y’all keep saying this but the Hunger Games, Barbie movie, first Captain Marvel and first Wonder Woman totally debunks your entire point.
no it doesn’t. Hunger games was popular books, barbie is American culture to the core, Wonder Woman is cannon, people saw Captain marvel for the Easter eggs men went to see that, if women liked captain marvel they would support it.

I know what I’m talking about.

There has to be a back story or attachment for women to go to the movies. They don’t go just because there is a female lead they are supposed to support cause fems said so.

The 476 against the budget is the issue though.

If i spend 999,995 to make 1 mill did i win? Lol

Yes obviously that's an issue but when every other movie of 2023 except literally NINE made less....again, it's not specifically a Marvel issue.

Kinda confused why people don't realize this.

I don't follow because Marvel had their biggest success after 2012. Up until 2023. People said "Black Panther" was pandering....and it made $1.3 billion.

So they have no reason to deviate. There's a million reasons this movie can fail but all this political, battle of the sexes, "its too woke" shyt ain't one of them. That's some internet shyt.

Fred.

Black Panther didn't deviate from the source and was empowering for our people...We weren't on that Tyler Perry Madea buffonism, we all could take pride in the BP movie....

Can't do that with modern Disney...

This is the goofy ass chronically online shyt I'm talking about.

40% of the audience for "GOTG", a Z tier Marvel team, was women. That was damn near 10 years ago.

Some of yall sound like you've been in a coma since 1953. Just completely out of touch with reality.

The funny thing is, these same people said the same things, for the same reasons, about the first Captain Marvel....then it made $1.1 billion.

But now everyone should listen to them.:mjlol:

Black Panther didn't deviate from the source and was empowering for our people...We weren't on that Tyler Perry Madea buffonism, we all could take pride in the BP movie....

It did deviate from the source material, but that's another topic entirely.

And black people aren't the face of the backlash against this movie. Or "Black Panther". I'm saying the same types of social media accounts were criticizing "BP". But now it's ok because it's women.

One thing that’s not talked about enough is that marvel sequel movies are always trash. the winter soldier is the only sequel that vastly outperforms the initial movie. I’ll go into that in a minute.

The issue is Marvel is so formulaic. Their formula works pretty well for movies that are introducing a new character or teams, but sequels demand that you go a level deeper with a character concept and that formula isn’t built to allow directors and writers the bandwidth to do so.

Or marvel as a whole just doesn’t seem to hire writers and directors who are willing to go that deep into a characters concept.

The winter soldier works so well because the story that it’s based off of was written by a guy named Ed Brubaker and his run on Captain America was very much loaded with “spy/political intrigue (I believe the Brubaker run was directly inspired by the fox tv series ‘24’).

this meant that the Russo brothers (who directed the winter soldier movie) had a pretty solid concept to base the movie off of . Captain America as a character works pretty well with political intrigue and as long as the fights had extremely solid choreography, the audiences seem to enjoy it. :ehh: The Russo brothers would also get lucky again and have another solid story to base a movie off of in the form of Civil War.

(there’s also a conversation about how marvel is struggling with fight and scene choreography for cosmic heroes, street level heroes and their power sets translates better into practical stunts which look more appealing to audiences)

The overall point I’m trying to make here is I believe that marvel studios needs to start fundamentally understanding the concepts that revolve around their characters and play with those concepts. For example, I think they made a significant mistake with how they rolled out the character of moon knight. They chose to focus more on the Egyptian lore/split personality side of the character when they could’ve still done the split personality thing but directly base the initial moon knight series off of Warren Ellis penned six issue miniseries that relaunched the character back in 2015. Ellis conceptually wrote moon knight as the defender of the “travelers of the night” which was a way to set the moon knight character up to investigate weirder street level crimes that plague the citizens of marvel. See? that’s the hook right there m. that’s the concept that the Directors and writers at marvel Studios have to be willing to play with. that concept is infinitely more intriguing than what they rolled out.

Incels and redpillers would be happy about this? :why: More like the anti-woke crowd than red pillers :rudy: One star :camby:
What is the difference between them?
Terminally online shyt
I don't give a gukk about a rotten tomatoes score

Yes, Iron man and captain America, the first films were great movies
That is what I mean about hit or miss. You had solid to great films like Iron man,Cap first avenger/winter soldier, Guardians of the galaxy, avengers and Ant man during phrase 1 and 2. but you also had mediocre to bad films like Iron man 2/3, thor 1/2, age of ultron and Hulk.

It’s funny how nobody talks about pandering to white males when they make shytty movies. In fact there are more shytty white male superhero movies than any other demographic and yet they keep making them.

Funny when Marvel ans MCU gets the burnt end of the stick, all of a sudden it is "MCU taking risks" and "let the directors do their thing"

But you, YOU, were the same person that was saying that DC should stop making movies altogether when they were underperforming.

My girl wants to see because she loves black superheroes, so I'll probably end up seeing with her only if we go to Alamo Drafthouse to see it.

But with the streak that the MCU have been on, who didn't see to coming and that Variety article and the Blade news doesn't help whatsoever
