If anyone is saying that rap music or any music for that matter can inspire or influence or motivate someone to do some kind of bad act then what they are really saying is that the bad actor already had some kind of preexisting mental issues that made them a danger to the community to begin with. Ennio Morricone made entire soundtracks for movies where there were tracks like the "Vice of Killing" but no one ever cited his music as a motivator for people to murder. You guys keep trying to remove people free will from their decisions to do bad acts.
:usure: you seriously comparing Morricone's composed music to drill rap?

You don't think music doesn't influence people? Particularly kids, if the artist is close in age and of their community?

i would love to hear a gameplan on how to stop people from making or consuming violent rap music without stepping on a persons rights

Good question,

We don't have to stop people from making the content nor do we have to stop people from consuming the content. A wiser approach is to stop streaming platforms from serving up the content altogether, this doesn't stop customers from listening to the content but it makes accessing it more difficult which will also impact the profitability of said content. If it's not profitable to make the content, there's less incentive to make the content.

It's clear the problem is only going to get worse and no one has what it takes to fix it.
This guy was a convicted felon That got out of jail in 11 months

Keeping criminals separated from society is the start

All you people screaming criminal justice reform need to rethink what it is you actually want

That would make it more appealing->more money.

It’s not the music

Reminds me when the one politician blame Tupac music for a brother shooting a cop in the 90s

So are we going to blame KISS or axel rose for bikers shootings throughout the southwest of the country which the media don’t cover
what this about biker shootings???

We should blame Simon & Garfunkel for the Kent State shooting too.

There are millions of people with white supremacist beliefs who don't go around shooting people.

But the occasional times a white supremacist DOES shoot someone, we don't go around excusing that shyt and saying, "Look at all the White Supremacists who never acted violently on their beliefs!"

Most people don't have it in them to just start going out and killing people at random. The vast majority of people influenced by ANY ideology aren't going to act on it to that degree. But for the ones that do, we shouldn't excuse their inspiration just because the act is relatively rare.

The issue is whether rap can influence people to commit bad acts. I say that those acts are committed by troubled people and Rap music just like Blues and Rock and Roll before it are just excuses for the actions.

You are engaging in obfuscation by injecting a belief system of White Supremacy that is based upon the belief that they are the superior race.

Yes Morricone music served as the basis for all of the violent Sergio Leone Westerns, but they are not used as an excuse. I have already stated my position on music.

If there's no vehicle to serve up this valuable content then there's no revenue stream.
it’s 2022 theres always gonna be a way to get your shyt out there :manny: . Cuz mentally stable are the majority and they want to hear it & they have every right to hear it just lime the artist has every right to make it.

It’s amazing how some of you will fight tooth and nail with @Matt504 defending anti-black music. I can’t think of any other sub-genre of music that encourages the murder/destruction specifically of their own race.

It’s actually disturbing. Just as much as those who defend the dregs of the black community.
