Didnt work for Ray Mercer, who got beat by Kimbo Slice, who had MINIMAL grappling training. You realize to throw a good punch you have to have both of your feet planted, which is when you get taken down. Lets just respect the grappling arts. They are devastating to pure strikers with no ground training.

Ray Mercer damn near 60 yars old :mjpshh:

Ps. What happened to your boy Hoger Gracie at the weekend. He couldn't even hold tim Kennedy down :mjpshh:

Tim Kennedy is a japanese jiujitsu black belt and a Green Baret. You dont think they study grappling? You cannot defeat brazillian jiujitsu without being involved in it. Im sorry. Its called MMA for a reason. The martial arts, they're mixed, not contained to one study. Please watch more footage. You are a novice in fight knowledge.

Wasn't Gracie meant to be the best BJJ guy in the world? And what does having a green beret have to do with fighting

Dude who started it did though. Now he has to live the rest of his life knowing his actions caused his homies demise.

True. But falcao should have dispatched of those bums quickly. He's an animal in the cage. He must have been drunk as fukk because he could barely fight.

All trolling aside, I'm gonna have to call bullshyt on this. First off, to take someone to the ground, you have to close the distance first. Pure BJJ with no MMA elements consists of mostly sweeps and throws from Judo of which you have to grab your opponent first to get them down other than simply pulling guard. Good luck getting close to someone highly skilled in any sort of standup art such as boxing, kickboxing, kyokushin, etc...without getting your head whooped. This is why in MMA you become skilled in standup to set up your takedowns if you're a ground based fighter. You also incorporate wrestling to shoot doubles or singles...THAT is where you'll own a striker.

When 2 highly skilled people fight the fight is about who can bring who into their world. Typically the guy with no ground experience will lose that exchange. You've got to deal with it. Still, bjj guys who only study bjj with no standup are pretty much going to make food out of anyone with no training on up to one dimensional strikers with no grappling experience.
