I like Wonderboy but I have been a big fan of Rory for a long time. I went into that fight thinking if he couldn't put that current Rory away then a lot of the hype I had for Wonderboy would be diminished. After that fight, he hardly looked like someone that would become a dominant champion. You have to admit that. I know the Wonderboy train is still going, you can bump this thread when his train gets stopped.

Wonderboy really should get the next shot. He made a former champion in Johnny Hendricks who arguably beat Robbie in their 2nd title fight look silly and largely dominated Rory who gave Robbie everything he could handle in his title shot. Not to mention he is a fresh contender for the WW title.
Woodley has already been inactive as it is, you don't have Wonderboy fight someone else and leave him on the sideline for another 7 or 8 months. Winner of Condit/Mai can get the next title shot after Wonderboy.

Yeah but Gastelum made Hendricks look bad. Wonderboy can get his title shot but how long will that take to setup with the way Woodley is going about things right now? If Condit wins his next fight (he should) it is either title shot or another contender fight.

If Gastelum made Hendricks look bad, Wonderboy made him look disgraceful. It shouldn't take long to set up as both fighters should be healthy, even if Woodley wants a money fight with a bigger name. No reason why the UFC shouldn't be able to book it a few months from now.
Condit was considering retirement not too long ago. If he beats Mai in a few weeks, I don't think he would mind waiting or you give him another fight.

IDK We will see. If Wonderboy gets passed up the only fighter who will be cleared in time to fight before the end of the year will be Condit/Maia or Gastelum.
