Baker: Black, Hispanic players hold up better in heat
ESPN.com news services

CHICAGO -- Dusty Baker has already warmed up to the idea of having to manage all those dog-days-of-summer afternoon games at Wrigley Field. He can't change the schedule, and being a California native and former player, he was accustomed to long days in the outfield sun.

But did he spend too much time in it?

Baker, in his first year as Cubs manager, delved into heat and skin color when talking to reporters Saturday, saying black and Hispanic players hold up better under the summer sun and heat.

"It's easier for most Latin guys and it's easier for most minority people because most of us come from heat. You don't find too many brothers in New Hampshire and Maine and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan. Right?" he said with a chuckle.

"We were brought over here for the heat, right? Isn't that history? Weren't we brought over because we could take the heat?"

"Your skin color is more conducive to heat than it is to the lighter-skinned people. I don't see brothers running around burnt," Baker said before the Cubs beat St. Louis at Wrigley. "That's a fact. I'm not making this up. I'm not seeing some brothers walking around with some white stuff on their ears and noses

Dusty is a good dude with good energy.

Vitamin D is essential to all human functions and most of us living outside of Africa have low vitamin d. It’s not surprising that it weakens your immune system heavily.

All of my family pretty much takes supplements, I started taking them after being diagnosed with incredibly low vitamin d levels to the point I had severe depression.

If you’re feeling symptoms of depression - check your vitamin d levels and start taking supplementation. I put a close friend onto this and it changed his whole life.
All facts. I’ve experienced this directly with a family member.

Yup. This also why I believe the planet is a living organism. It needs the same things our bodies do. Sunlight, water, vitamins and minerals. We come from the earth which is why the original man is God body

The dominant society didn't want to give black people the keys to why we were hard hit by covid.. We're deficient in a lot of critical vitamins and minerals.. Really has nothing to do with anything specific to the black race. Most of the other black countries outside of america did pretty well against this particular virus..

Hotep and Woke are catchall dog whistles used by the lazy now

Next there's going to be "studies" telling you that taking vitamins and herbs and drinking teas will help prevent it or minimize symptoms too, I guess once white folks tell them what to do they finally listen.

Been said this multiple time, not only will vitamin d bolster your immune system but it'll increase your overall testosterone/ muscle mass. Ya'll boys better do lil research on vit d3 and how effective supplementation is for melinated folk

Take zinc and vit d3, hit the gym regularly for a month and come back and to me and tell me you don't see a significant difference in overall energy levels, mood, skin, strength and immune system function. Only the wise will listen. Thank me later.:jawalrus:

Going to GNC right now for some D3.

I keep my zinc in my desk at work.
