If southern dudes came out with that Kung fu shyt it would have been labeled as corny

Because it woulda felt so inorganic. NY/Eastcoast nikkas during that time literally grew up on and collected Kung fu flicks. It was different for Hip Hop but it made sense seeing that they were from NYC.

i thought Doggie "only interviewed people who haven't been interviewed before" or whatever.

U-God has that long interview with Vlad from last year.

i'll listen when the full joint drops.

:mjlol: most miserable nikka ever.

Don’t underestimate yourself.

Anyways...@Xerces ain’t wrong. But the difference is, Wu didn’t seem to use that as a gimmick, per se. You got the impression they was really into that chit. Like with the movie samples and all that, and kicking the Eastern knowledge. And, (probably most important of all) they weren’t dressing like Afu-Ra or trying to shoehorn Kung-Fu into every song/appearance/interview they did - like ICP. That’s what makes something a “gimmick”.

Sidebar: imo Three 6 Mafia did a good job walking this line also.

And I think the only reason people say “U-God is the most surly dude in the Clan” is because
he just talks more than Rae. It seems like Rae has been trying to prove he doesn’t need Wu
ever since after Purple Tape.

My dude Golden Arms. LOL!!

I don't think he's salty about anything. It was just a part of the brand that he didn't fukk with like that. RZA always said that that was more his thing that he brought to the crew. He's the leader and the mastermind of the whole shyt, so you kinda have to go along with whatever he's bringing to the fold, that's working. I always appreciated U-God for not being a yes-man. This dude complains about everything, lol. And every crew has that one dude in it, that doesn't like shyt. That's the cat that's always going to be real with you and tell you the truth. More crews need people like that.

lol the 4 bar killer stays salty son. ok it might not have been your thing personally, but you ride with the team and don't shyt on it publicly. that's the branding that made nikkas millionaires and household names b. you can't say how the acronym applied to you when the acronym itself is mired in what you're saying is trash. that don't even make sense....

rae and ghost are street nikkas and navigated through that kung fu framework just fine and had their respective chambers. let's be for real here my brother

Lol dude is way more miserable and surly than Rae. Rae is disgruntled about a lot of shyt for sure, but U-God spews nothing but pure uncut hate every time a mic is in front of his face.

And furthermore, Rae has about 100x more credibility than U to complain. Rae got an indisputable classic under his belt and has been a dope emcee for almost 3 decades. He’s an indispensable member of the clan and they wouldn’t be what they are without him.

U-God has always been :trash: and nothing would have been lost if he never joined the group. They probably would’ve been better without him honestly.

This dude has some audacity to say anything about RZA or anyone in the clan when he couldn’t rap and was a self-described street dude who was awarded the generous opportunity of joining arguably the greatest rap group of all time. If we believe his own accounts of his life, he probably would’ve been dead or in jail instead of a member of an iconic music group if it wasn’t for RZA.
