So which is it? Was he the biggest in music or with young fans? Because even then that wouldn’t be true
He was everywhere...he was on top..not Janet Jackson..not Madonna...eastcoast had NOTHING..bigger than Cube...R Kelly couldn't touch him..Jodeci couldn't see him....

Snoops trial was pretty big ,im not saying as Big as OJ :whoa: but it made him more famous. They use to have big rallies to protest his music. C Delores Tucker,Calvin Butts rest their souls but they were mainly against Snoop who was main focus of "gangsta rap" . Snoop was pretty big back in day. I wanna give Snoop the edge over Pac,in terms of popularity and fame. Its a close tie it was neck and neck.

Your memory is eschewed. Rap was still fighting an uphill battle as a genre in the 90s. Janet, Madonna, Garth Brooks, Grunge…was bigger

From '92-'94 Snoop Doggy Dogg was Hip-Hop's biggest superstar. His features on The Chronic, Doggystyle, and Murder Was The Case Soundtrack (along with his murder trial) cemented him as the biggest star during that period.

I wasn't even alive then but looking back at old footage, clips, interviews, etc pretty much says it all.

Tupac didn't become a star until '96 after he was bailed out from prison and signing with Death Row. Death Row made him a superstar.

I love that this culture is living on through the young Brehs.

You're pretty spot on. Tupac had hardcore stans before stans were stans but he wasn't a powerhouse until Death Row. Listen to that first album. The beats were iffy and he hadn't exactly found himself stylewise util years later.

The Death Row shyt was alot to do with top notch production on top of Pac's style fully maturing.

Snoop and it’s not even close. Pac fans are some of the most delusional people on earth tbh.

Clarify the timeline,

Snoop from late 92 to 94 was the hottest rapper, by 95, BIG, Bone and Coolio were hotter because Snoop got caught up in the murder trial but Snoop was still the biggest name

96 was Pac. All Pac. We give Fugees their props and that's where it stops

yes. great lawgik. for everyone who didn't finish school.

tupac .. dead rapper ... and not even a great one at that .. outsold snoop dog.

snoop couldn't even outsell the ghost of pac :mjlol:

tupac will smith'd snoop's numbers without even trying.

Yeah… record sales and not brand recognition determines popularity…..Sam Smith has sold more records than Snoop too…. now go ahead and use that bad logic and say Sam Smith is more popular than snoop….. like the slow leak you are….

Remember how big the news was when Suge signed Pac out of jail to Death Row? Remember the buildup to and the release of California Love? You can’t do that if you aren’t a star already. People have to stop putting these 2023 narratives on 90’s rappers. There wasn’t just one guy that just ran away with the torch like these days. Snoop and Pac both did their thing and both were stars. It’s not PAC’s fault that he went in there and ran shyt at Death Row lol. Man both them dudes were everywhere and it was a major blow to hiphop when Pac got locked up. I mean look at the videos off MATW. shyt was depressing cause he wasn’t out here. Dear Mama was theeee shyt then and he wasn’t in the video smh. People need to just argue Drake vs Kendrick or some shyt cause this argument makes more sense with these two.
