fukk this shyt. I’m fine with 4K and fattening up my Plex server with the best available shyt to download as long as it looks great on the screen.

folks love trash quality videos on their phone so they are more than happy with these trash thick bezel TVs that cost $280 for a 50in

I can tell you what NOT to buy better than what you should get. Not because of ignorance to the subject matter but because the 4k market is unstable. Prices dropped quickly and while most people haven't made the upgrade they already trying to push 8k.

What you want is a 4ktv with variable refresh rates which the majority of models that will release for now on will have (vrr). Oled aka 4k-plasma is inferior and more expensive than the new standard which will be mini/micro LEDs. All of that stuff lands this year, which TVs will feature what isn't entirely known but ces2020 just wrapped up and you can YouTube to see all the latest sets. I personally will wait for about 12-14 months before looking for a deal on a decent 2nd gen television with vrr

I'm still holding off for a big TV too. 4K is nice but nothing has grabbed me yet. Almost 11 years since my last TV that I'm still using now at 1080p. To me anything would be an upgrade but money isn't an issue.

You not missing much right now, 4k isn't a jump in quality like it was moving to HD. The HDR is excellent when it's used properly but most things (not all) be it movies or gaming isn't taking advantage of HDR yet. They even have fake HDR. I expect the next gen to really use HDR in ways that'll make it a must have. Right now it's pretty hit or miss.

Disney+ has a lot of 4k content when you do decide to make that splurge
